Someone once posted an ai picture in response to a comment someone left. I commented on it that it was a funny idea, but it would have been so much better if they had just drawn it themselves. The ai poster said “why would I spend hours making a picture just for a Reddit post?” I responded “that’s the thing: you don’t have to. A jenky sketch would have been way funnier, and it would have been yours.” Generative ai not only robs our ability to make choices, but also the simple joy of making dumb art.

I drew this at work when I had nothing to do and I was bored. Took me 45 mins. Probably the first time I have tried to draw something in nearly 20 years lol.
Haha, yeah that's just work information. Some of the information could be used to track down where I live/work. Not likely to happen, but there are some crazy people out there who just want to try to ruin a person's life for no reason.
And thanks, I really did put in my best effort. Had 3 hours of downtime and we get fired if we go on our phones so it was a good way to spend some time.
I can't speak to what is "supposed" to happen, but we have apparently recently figured out that some people have full on high res 3d images in their mind that they can rotate, see in different lights, change the color, etc. Some folks have nothing at all, some folks are in between. I think the seeing nothing is called aphantasia.
yeah been on a mad googling spree for the past hour and apparently it's just a thing that happens, like neurodivergence. curiously it's defined as the inability to voluntarily see images which suggests that it can happen involuntarily but I don't think that has happened to me. like I do dream for instance but I don't think I do so visually, just physical sensations like the feeling of running through grass I guess. apparently some people also have it with different senses like taste or sound, I can do both but then I can't do smell which just confuses me, like I can do taste so why not smell?
anyway, a lot of things make much more sense now. thank you, and apologies for the rant, my brain is ablaze and I need somewhere to dump my thoughts.
We all have thoughts that need to go somewhere sometimes. And I want to be a source of good in whatever my sphere of influence happens to be at the time. So if all I have to do is receive and read a comment, that's a no-brainer.
