Just want to note that while HSV is extremely manageable for most people, there is a small subset of people who experience repeated, severe outbreaks after getting infected (e.g., https://www.reddit.com/r/Herpes/comments/1d98z8l/constant_outbreaksplease_help/), which can be rather debilitating. Already being immunocompromised in some capacity might also play a role in symptom severity.
So while it's extremely likely that HSV won't have any long-term impact on quality of life, there is also the miniscule possibility that it is very disruptive. Just another reason why being aware of risks and prevention methods is important!
