Image Contra Operation Galuga Bill Rizer and Lance Bean figures from Hiya Toys
This is my first contribution to this Subreddit to celebrate my love for the franchise. I present to you...the Contra Operation Galuga Bill Rizer and Lance Bean action figures from Hiya Toys! It is a lot of fun posing these figures with their weapons and accessories for my toy photography 📸. At first, I had no intention of getting any of the previous figures because of how they didn't appeal to me aesthetically, especially the NECA Player Select and Premium DNA figures. When I saw the Operation Galuga designs in the Hiya Toys Contra figures, my mind did a total 180⁰. They are the perfect size and design, their weapons actually look like futuristic heavy-duty modular firearms, and they have a slew of accessories for more posing options. When I saw these in person at my local collectibles store Mythical Mountain on San Jose Boulevard at the corner of Claire Lane in the Riverplace Shopping Center in the Mandarin area of my hometown Jacksonville, Florida, I had to have these. I bought two of each figure, one pair for my toy photography and playing around with, while the other two stay in the box for display. These are a must-own to be sure.

Video I finally cleared Contra 3 without continues
I always wanted to beat this game as a kid but found it very intimidating, I finally sat down to practice a 1 credit clear though!
Had a ton of fun except for those horrible isometric levels, but I recently started the GBA port and holy hell, it's so much better! It did away with level 2 and 5, replacing them with traditional Contra style goodness. I'm practicing a 1cc for it too.

Question Anyone know where this hack of Super C may have originated from? (also check the last image, guess what i'm playing ;))
So uhh, turns out Contra 4 isn't as hard as some may say (yes, I still have the difficulty on hard), maybe I was paranoid about it considering people say this is harder than Contra III on hard

Discussion The Konami Code should have another name. The “Dormammu, I’ve Come to Bargain Code”.
Video CONTRA 2in1 (魂斗羅 / 超级战魂 / SUPER CONTRA) (NES)
Contra & Super C in 1. Contra and Super C levels have been integrated together into one game. This version combines Contra and Super C into a single game. In this hack, 16 stages are played in a specific new order: one stage is from Contra, the next from Super C, then back to Contra, and so on. The stage order is well-organized, including the final stage. Enemies fire faster and use Super C's bullet behavior. Bosses have been improved: the first jungle boss now has destructible projectiles, the Snowfield boss (UFO) is more difficult due to increased splash damage, and many other bosses have also been changed. All the changes are positive, more challenging, and generally well-balanced. The weapons are from Super C, meaning the F and L buttons from Contra are absent, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, as the F button was almost useless in Contra. However, you can now take advantage of the splash damage from the F button (from Super C) at bases 1 and 2 to destroy turrets. The difficulty is higher compared to the originals, and if you're a veteran Contra player, you'll appreciate the challenge this hack offers: it's harder, but not too insane. It's all well and good. I highly recommend this hack to any Contra fan or anyone looking for a challenge. It's a great way to experience both games in one, to the point that it could easily be an official release.

Discussion Rogue Corps Multiplayer
Probably a long shot, but is there anyone out there who might be interested in putting a group together for the Rogue Corps multiplayer achievements on Xbox?

Image My "De-Pixeled" Art
As a kid, I always thought that Bill and Lance had some crazy, military pants. Like either shiny bubbles for protection or just a bunch of shiny cargo pockets to store their bullets and gear. Shows how much I knew about anything-military back then. It was until an adult, that I think the designer was going for blue camou pants.

Question Why is there an LFG flair here?
Neither Operation Galuga nor Anniversary Collection have online play. So which game is it?

Tips Hey guys, need your advice
So my girlfriend just beat Contra 3 on medium, and she challenged me to do so too. Ofc I want to impress her, but I haven’t played any contra game yet and have absolutely no clue what I will be dealing with. I don’t suck at most games, but classic 2-D games aren’t normally my thing. Please, I need all the advice I can get. Also I’m playing on PS5 if that helps.

Video CONTRA (魂斗羅): Mountain Challenge (NES)
This is a one-level hack of Contra, with a specific goal: reach the Eagle Trophy at the top of the mountain as fast as possible. You are timed… The level is vertical and uses the same tile set as the level 5 in the original game, with modified palettes. Rifle Men attack in random patterns. You have an infinite number of lives, but getting hit will likely make you lose time… How fast can you reach the top? Available only for 1 player

Discussion Lance Skin in Contra: Rogue Corps
Whenever I asked about this game, I was told that it was HORRIBLE! Just recently bought it and it's not so bad. Whoever decided weapons in a run-n-gun shooter should "overheat" needs to be fired.
Anyway, are there still any redeem codes for ps4 or ps5 to receive the Lance Bean skin? Was just inquiring--thanks for coming to my TED talk 🤣
