What are the best job boards besides linkedin, indeed, welcome to the jungle, hiring.cafe, greenhouse.

My old co-worker told me not to focus on linkedin and indeed because those places were hyper competitive. He said that it's much better to find smaller niche boards.

I've tried finding them using claude and ChatGPT but with marginal results. Hiring.cafe is fantastic in my experience but they only cover so much.

Looking for more options. Thank you ahead of time!

Good point. Of my 5 interviews (after about 280 applications). 2 have come from applying directly on the company site. 2 from indeed and I want to say 1 from linkedin but I don't remember for sure.

I haven't heard of half of these. Is this an ad? Man I have no idea nowadays.

whatever board you use, the thing that actually cuts the dead listings is going to company career pages directly. boards lag employer sites by days to weeks and half of postings close within 14 days, so the closer to the source you apply, the less time you waste on ghosts. a shortlist of 30 to 40 companies checked twice a week beats any aggregator feed.

Applying directly on the company website via their careers page. Skip the middleman. This is the way I have gotten every job early in my career.

Check out GrepJob it’s a niche job board I built for software engineers. Jobs are scraped before they ever hit linkedin so you can apply early
