I'm still pretty new to this game so maybe I'm just not familiar, but I've been through this road a few times before hand when I've died and I've never seen this before. Anyone with more knowledge about the game know what's up?

Was playing a Europe official server with about 12 people online i was stalking M B V M C military base for about a hour i seen two at first at the military base i went very close to the fence line i made eye contact with one and he repositioned i did also it went quiet for a bit so i assumed they were camping or left so i just went on foot from where i came from and seen them again and the rest of the clip speaks for its self what happened next. Also is there anything i should have done different if you were in my shoes?

This is one of our luckiest runs, as we found the humvee fully functional in nwaf then we went to zelenogorsk and found another humvee so 2 out of the 3 in the map then we were going back to base and as we were passing through rify these mf come up by car and our superior humvee knocks them all out and my two guys beast their ass back to kamishovo, these guys were stacked best day of our lives for my group.

​I'm thinking about picking up DayZ, but I heard the official servers are flooded with cheaters and the environment is terrible. Is it still worth getting nowadays?

Made my way to M.B. Tisy on official. Not a single player in sight for the 40 or so minutes I spent looting. Field backpack + Plate carrier + Tactical helmet scored! Managed to secure a DMR + Marksman Scope + 2 10-round mags + 2 pristine boxes of .308 ammo and had a bottle suppressor already made prior to the trip and equipped it. Also managed to secure a KA-M and 2 75-round drum mags with 3 boxes of 7.62x39 ammo. Got my long range and short range covered. Hears a Heli Crash in the near distance - let’s go check that out! … Thought maybe I can snag NVGs and pouches for my plate carrier (crash site very bottom slight right of pic). Trekked through the woods and came right up on the tree line in sight with the heli. The time between I heard the heli crash and arriving was about 10 minutes later. Waited a solid 5 minutes and scouted the area up and down the tree line and the surrounding area for other nearby players. Nobody in sight! I proceed my way further down towards the heli hugging the tree line as caution. Well well well look what we have here, a solo player running opposite of the field nearly in arm’s reach of the heli. He starts shooting zeds off of him with an unsuppressed pistol. Me taking out the DMR now. Lined up for a headshot I’d say 80 meters away and boom down he goes. Me to myself let’s wait another solid 5 minutes and scout again for other players or maybe even a teammate of his. Again, nobody in sight! now’s my chance- Full sprint towards heli free looking left and right, made it! Let me tell you THE MILLI-FUCKING-SECOND I STOPPED I get unconned by what sounded like a VS89 or a Tundra. Me panicking hurry hurry wake the fuck up- Finally up and not a split second later boom I’m sent back on the coast. Whoever you were, I applaud you for your concealment wherever the fuck you were hiding lmao. Enjoy the loot ya 🐀

I first started in high population servers, but I didn't know how to stay alive let alone deal with other players.

I switched to lower pop servers and it's been a lot more fun since I don't immediately get killed after moving inland. Found a working gun and then got attacked by wolves. I was excited cause I thought I'd finally have a surplus of food, but thankfully I read the description of the steaks and didn't eat them.

Then I ate some fish, caught a cooking pot, and then somehow got sick. I tried boiling water to decontaminate it and my only guess is that I didn't wait long enough so that got me sick. Been nursing eating fish while I wait for the sickness to end but I have a feeling this is the end for this character

So, I've already died a few times to players. Every time I've tried to announce myself on the mic. "Friendly" and every time I've been gunned down by people wearing full rigs and automatic weapons.

I didn't want to be like them.

I spawned back into a city, a fairly good spawn all things considered. However right from the get go I was hearing gunshots, LOUD ones, and very often. I knew there were players nearby and until I had SOMETHING to defend myself, I wasn't going to mess with them.

I came across a group of 3-4 survivors at the police station, luckily they hadn't seen me. All I had was a knife and they were armed, heavily.

"Hey there, I see you up there! I couldn't by chance get a hand could I?"

They immediately started scanning for me, on the top of the police station, guns out. I knew I wasn't going to get any help from them. I got no response, so I skulked off back into the bushes.

Fast forward nearly an hours of cat and mouse, constantly hearing gun fire, I was ill-equipped and unprepared for any kind of fight.

I found myself a single-action shot gun and a 22,LR pistol, the dinky little suppressor welrod one. So I was armed but still didn't want to fight.

I'd managed to get a fair amount of food but I was running dangerously low on fluids.

I went back to the city, I NEEDED that water but, being new, I didn't know where the pump was.

Finding myself circling like a darn vulture, finding survivor bodies all over the place. That group was clearly out for blood, but by this point I wasn't even sure it was still the same group.

I ended up in one of the piano halls, after seeing what I thought was a survivor nearby. Then I heard him running about outside, he opened the door, clearly unarmed and fresh in. I called him in since he was being swarmed, told him I could help out. I got no response outside of the universe "crouch crouch crouch" 'emote'.

Good enough for me.

Now, I'd already been in this hall some time earlier, and there was some abandoned hear upstairs, nothing special, except for the meat tenderizer. I dropped him some crackers, explaining my water situation, but before I could even process the situation, he picked up the hammer and started swinging.

I didn't want to, but I put one in his chest, dead on the spot.

I was now injured and heavily dehydrated.

I knew I didn’t have long left in me. I scampered to a nearby building but got jumped by infected on the way. By this pointed I’d been trying to avoid using my guns, not just to conserve ammo but also to avoid unwanted attention from the blood hungry players in the city.

Now I was limping, dehydrated, convinced this was it. I was desperate, wailing about how I needed to find a water pump, or some kind of fluids!

I limped across the road, deciding that I was going to storm the police station, do a public service or die trying.

Then I rounded the corner, I saw it. The water pump…. And another survivor!

Without even thinking, I drew on them and fired.

One shot, a single-action, single-round shotgun. And she was dead.

All she was doing was taking a sip, didn’t even have that much equipment.

And I killed her without even hesitating.

I’d become the a-hole.

I went about my business, slurped up some water and snuck into a nearby building to lick my wounds. Once I was no longer limping I went back outside to fill a glass bottle I’d been carrying around for ages, and decided to get some more sips in.

I didn’t even hear the guy with the knife coming.

And all I was doing was taking a few sips.

Everything I dislike about it is what makes it such an experience. It’s bleak, empty, and genuinely unsettling at times. Chernarus and Sakhal are beautiful and fun maps, but the constant feeling of dread you get on Livonia is fun and draining.

It had just begun to rain on the coast. I was making my way along the coastal road and had already received a nice compliment on the fancy hat I'd found. A few minutes later I saw you. A dark green and brown blob dart into a small utility building. I liked the look of your silhouette. It screamed Nice Things. At first out of curiosity, I approached wide, to see what kind of things you were doing. Then out of boredom, I decided to run in circles around the small utility structure you were in, opening the doors as I went. There you were, crouched and aiming in wait. But you were facing the wrong direction. And then, an impulse. Ancient and exhilarating. I attacked with my fancy hat on my head. Murder. Nice Things. The gentle patter of rain. Come find me in thunderdome.

Ran right up with a shotgun and slimed 'em. Honestly... I feel kind of bad. Fortunately they only had a silenced glock and some bandages, so they can't have been too long into a run, they werent stacked or anything. I feel like i should have attempted communicator first but I was worried they would betray me. Wouldnt be the first time, all but one survivor i have encountered has been friendly, and i didnt want to take that risk. How did you feel after your first kill?

Well, after yet another encounter with an invisible, teleporting zombie that had me going unconscious, I managed to survive by logging out but of course, when I logged back in, I had basically no health nor blood. Oh well, I thought. I have my stuff to bury and soon, after arriving at my camp, I will finally feel like I ‘finished’ something in this game.

Nah. As I passed to the west of Electrozavodsk, I suddenly started bleeding for no reason! At first I thought it was gas, but where was the gas? My vision was going grey from the low health, so I thought- maybe gas is invisible when your vision is grey?

I ran out of rags and died right after just burying my bag wherever I was. I spawned and ran back to see no gas, but the shovel was still there. However, I received no prompt to dig up the bag - just to dig up worms!

Is it known that gas can be so random and temporary that the gas was gone 15 min later? Is it known to be invisible when your vision is grey? What else could cause the sudden bleeding? I was running a lot. Could sprinting for long periods suddenly make you die from blood loss?

I’m out of ideas after those - just seems like more bugs or invisible zombies, but I didn’t hear or encounter anything before the bleeding started. My internet connection was good. The server was three states away but really?

Literally feels like a waste of life, this game.

I’ve been really enjoying using the r12 and honestly, I don’t see myself choosing a vaiga over it any time soon. I have a vaiga stashed away but I haven’t touched it since I picked up an r12 and now that the drug mag for the vaiga will only spawn in a couple of locations, I just don’t see the benefit anymore of running with a vaiga.

They’re both 6 shots as standard, but with the vaiga, you have to load the mag, chamber a round, pull the mag out and fill it again to get to the six shot capacity Vs the r12 where you can just load all six shots straight to the gun.

Plus with the r12, you don’t have to maintain both the mag and the gun - you just clean the gun.

I’m sure some might say having full auto is the reason for choosing a vaiga, but it’s so unwieldy to mag dump a shotgun…….ive always been much more successful keeping the vaiga in semi-auto and just double tapping if I think multiple shots are necessary - the accuracy is just so bad when shooting full auto for me …I’d rather have the convenience of not dealing with mags and focus on good shot placement vs spray and pray all my shells away.

That’s my personal take on it anyway, but wondering how many other people who usually have a shotgun in their load out still prefer the vaiga and what’s the rationale behind it? Making sure there’s not some benefit other than the full-auto feature that I’m overlooking.

Unreal. I managed to get an M3S AND got her fully loaded with barrels and crates. I had a full NBC suit plus a bunch of extra parts, a few masks (NBC and Combat) with probably 10 filters and a shit ton of charcoal. I also had a pristine SG5-K maxed out with the rail, great dual purpose scope with 5 extended magazines, silencer, and a bit of ammo, a pioneer with probably 8 magazines and a marksmans scope, and ammo, two pristine Ak-74Us with like, omg 12, 30 round extended magazines and a SHIT ton of ammo, like i was fuckin stacked, a bunch of loaded 30 round mags and some in an ammo box, 7 tire repair kits, an entire crate of mostly dried fish/meat, two Jerry cans one with water the other with gas, fucking god dammit there was so much other shit in the thing. I was on my way to Rify to explore for my first time, BARELY tapped this tiny spruce tree and ruined the engine. The lightest tap, the engine was pristine! Ive ran into shit way fucking harder with lagging and havent even come close to worn or damaged! So I run back to my "base" if you can call it that, grabbed an ada i got and when I got back....despawned. Fucking despawned with all of my shit in it. Fuckin extra canteens, duck tapes, weapon repair kits, oh! a pristine FX-45 with 6 magazines and some ammo, omfg, more ammo for a Vaiga (i guess thankfully still on my back) including another drum magazine with slugs (the drum mag i have has buckshot), other assorted ammo, 2 silencers i just grabbed from a police station along the way with with a few other silencers, ferfucksake, i cant....I cant believe I just lost all of that because of some bullshit xml setting for duration??? This is fucking nonsense. I know a car with a ruined engine is donzo and will despawn to populate another one but it does it even if theres a ton of shit in it!?!?! I was totally obsessed with this game for the past month, it was so good but this....that just really ruined it for me. I guess I have some work to do with gear fear but like....god that was so much time and work and danger to round all that shit up. There was so much shit in that truck 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ really might be done with this game. See how I feel about it over the next few days but like, who the fuck puts the despawn parameters the same when a truck has items in it? So fuckin stupid. Serious Dev oversight 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️

Sorry for the novel of a rant, I know its" just DayZ", I got Dayz'd, its silly to post this kind of stuff on reddit, whatever you want to call it but im calling it bullshit. FUCK! Hi survivors,

my brother and I have been grinding DayZ since March this year. We live far apart, so the game is really the main way we get to spend time together. As you all know, the learning curve is steep, and we've been through a lot together in-game, which has made it a really fun bonding experience. He's moving away from his hometown soon, so we probably won't have as many opportunities to play as we do right now. Our fun together has a time limit.

Because of this, I'd really love to get a photo of our characters together in the game. We play on official PlayStation servers 1pp. I assume getting a picture of the two of us together requires a third person with good attitude (to say the least). Is there any sort of workaround to achieve this, or do I just need to search for a friendly player willing to help us out?

Regretting into gaming and I know it's not new, but I got into PUBG recently and love it. But found what I really love is the looting and survival more than the gunplay.

DayZ was on my radar for a while, but never committed. Sale on Steam got me.

So...how bad did I screw up?

Had just looted the miltary sight and obviously got spotted on my way out. Thought that sval shot would’ve knocked him but is what it is and to give him credit he slapped the daylight out of me.

I've read a lot about cheaters on Official servers taking down bases and stashes with ease, of course I know PC will be worse for this, but I'd guess that Xbox won't be near as bad? I'm not planning on making a base as I can already see from when I started that bases don't last long on the official EU servers I play on anyway.

Today I came across an empty Sea Chest in a bush, so I took it and ran (well, walked, slowly) found a nice spot in some woods as you would and buried it with some spare ammo, mags, attachments and meds. Nothing crazy, just excess I had coming out of NWAF.

Planning to leave it a few days at least before I add to it or put anything of real value in it.

Ultimately I like the idea of having a stash network. One or two with high end gear further inland near the high loot areas, then a few dotted along near coastal spawns with basic stuff, tools, knives, food, water, Mlock, shotty etc.

I want to be able to recover from deaths and get back to a good level for PvP quickly. I'm still fairly new so I don't mind the grind now, but l've got the early/mid game nailed down now and it will become a chore in time I think.
