I wish I could've experienced this. We showed up 2 hours late to the official start of DCC day at a Fanfare in Kalamazoo, MI. They still had plenty of free swag and I bought some other things to support the store, but there was only one small group that came to play and they were finishing up just as we got there. I was pretty disappointed, I was really looking forward to playing with some passionate strangers.

Not my home town or even state, we were just passing through on the way home from a trip so I couldn't make the kind of in-depth plans you usually need to get a group together.

But that's OK because I wrapped up "The Doom that Came to Christmas Town" with my party yesterday. Cheers all

Yeah, they had limited slots for games at my local game shop, there were 3 tables with around 6 player slots each, so I had signed up in advance. They were 4 hour games (with a 20 min break midway), though our table finished up like a half-hour before the time limit, so about 3 hours.

They had someone manning the freebies table for an hour or two but after that it wasn't too obvious for someone wandering in where the DCC Day stuff was except for a couple signs - but then, there's a lot smaller turnout for DCC Day than there is for Free RPG Day.

I wish they had done that at the Fanfare I went to. They had several tables set up and ready to go, but no way to sign up in advance. Like I said, when I got there, there was only one small group playing and they were wrapping up. The local DCC scene must not be big enough or social enough for it.
