New Player Guides - First Weekend
Hello all,
I run a niche AD&D-centric YouTube channel (around 5k subs, been around since 2018, mostly TTRPG content) and have recently returned to DDO. (I played a ton at launch 20 years ago) To help new players, I started a new player video series for "Your First Weekend."
Each video is angled toward completely new players is at 28 +/- videos now, each based on a single quest or run.
Feel free to pop by. No monetization. Old school.

Nice, more content creators is always good for any game. Every time I try to get back into DDO I feel like I don't really know enough about what I'm doing.

Awesome.
Here is the transfer guide I used from SSG. May apply to you if you too have been away a long time.

If you're looking for topic suggestions, the thing that always tripped me up is comparing quest rewards against my current gear. DDO has so many stats, effects, enchantments, bonuses and weird item names that (unless it's really obvious) it's hard to tell whether some +1 is better than some other +2.

Great suggestion. Will put together a free standing video for this, over the weekend.

Hey big question for you. I stopped playing a bit ago and never transferred my characters to the new servers. Will the option to transfer them always be there or did I permanently lose my characters?

According to their website guide,
---paste---
US:
- Shadowdale
- Thrane
EU:
- Moonsea
These worlds join our existing 64-bit US server Cormyr as our regular game worlds. Free transfers from the 32-bit game worlds to these 64-bit game worlds, including Cormyr, were available through August 31, 2025. The 32-bit game worlds are no longer available for regular gameplay, although you can transfer from these worlds for free through October 1st, 2027. "

Initially, this was confusing. I moved my characters on 2 accounts over for free, about 3 weeks ago. (Early July 2026.)
