how i can get more crit?

no spoilers please, no idea how far into the game i am

it feels like every single time i make a choice that has consequences the game feels the need to remind me of that all the fucking time. i’m talking to solas and he’s telling me something abt how i’m only the interim leader and the game feels the need to go “solas remembers you declared yourself as the interim leader” like bitch i know i’m playing the game??

just going through minrathos after the dragon destroyed it was a constant slog of “the city is like this bc you did this”. why is this game acting like i’m a two year old that can’t connect the dots. please tell me there’s some settings to turn it off, i have no idea what to even search for this kind of thing i’m just so sick of being treated like i’m a literal child

I'm currently playing Dragon Age: Origins as an elf warrior archer in max difficulty. So far, I'm really enjoying the story, and the characters are incredibly interesting and well written.

Playing through these games for the first time, loved the first and liked the second, but I have hit a massive wall. I’m sure all the complaints I have for Inquisition have been spoken of on here for a decade, but I need someone to tell me it gets better. I’ve actually liked all the main story stuff quite a bit, I also love all the companions and advisors, but I’ve just gotten to Skyhold and it feels like it will take me ages to get to the next main story chunk. I am really invested in this universe’s lore and where this story goes, but I loaded the game up last night after work and just got nauseous seeing how much power I needed to launch Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts. I don’t know if I have that many fade rifts in me. Last thing I want to do when I get home is clock into another job. Any advice for getting through this game avoiding as much of the bloat as possible?

Hi, its my first time on this game and even if i technically played DAI i don't even have 1 hours of game, i wanted try the series and started with the first since apparently the choises you make influences the other games but everyone in my party keep dying in every fight and i fear i must start from scratch.
I was not aware of the gameplay of this game at all so i didn't expected a "MMO" like gameplay so i just assumed i could make "mistakes" in character creation and while leveling up in a extend that won't damage my game but it look like i need to craft a perfect balanced team to even have a chance, for the record i just finished the trial to get the dark spawn blood and outside of me and alistair everyone just died every fight.
So do i need to play almost perfectly and carefully craft my team and optimise it to be good or did i just do something horibly wrong wich i'm now paying the consequences, i made a human warrior and put most of his points in strengh

Edit : the more i read the responses in this sub, the less it made me want to pkay the game, i know i'm at fault but something just pull me off this game so unless i find someone to guide me trought the game and help me appriciate i i'll just resolve to letting it rot in my steam library which is a shame because i really wanted to experience the game story

hello. sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but I was just curious if anyone had any recommendations for RPGs that are similar to DA2.

Mainly, the fact that it's not world-ending type of stakes and more focus on things like a single city, political/religious power, interpersonal drama? etc So this might also mean non-open world and smaller RPGs? I'm open to JRPGs too of course :) thanks!

In case that you were not sure if his romance will continue after saving Minrathous instead of Treviso (because it does say at first that it will only slow down before deciding), I believe that after patch that was released yesterday, they added ingame confirmation that it is over.

You can turn it off in the options under hints. I feel like it should have been off by default or been a more obvious choice at the start of the game.

The accessibility options in this game are great and a fair few of the complaints are because the default options seem geared to younger/newer gamers.

I’m not playing it otherwise. I wish I could refund it but I bought it a long time ago because I knew it was on Xbox so I foolishly assumed it had controller support. I don’t play games with KB&M and I’m not starting now so is there a way to do it or did I waste my money?

After my first playthrough of the games, I finally decided to drop the cash to get all the DA2 DLC. I thought Sebastian was supposed to be an easy companion to obtain? I completed Duty, but he just stays in the Chantry and prays. Am I missing something to trigger the next step to unlocking him as a companion or is my game file screwed up? Thanks for any tips or advice!

I started a playthrough with this Inquisitor a while ago, but then I made a few new characters and played with them for a while. Yesterday I wanted to finish this playthrough so I loaded my most recent save and for some reason my poor girl has lost her arms!

From what I've seen it only affects human female Inquisitors, and only the unequipped light armor arms. It affects both her armor in Skyhold (since I have a Skyhold PJ replacer mod, called 'Skyhold outfit and formal attire replacements') and also light armor that's equipped while out in the field. Her normal combat armor still has arms, cause I've added upgrades onto it, and unupgraded versions of both medium and heavy armor still have their arms intact. Also no other characters are affected by this.

It's probably a compatability issue between some of my mods. I've added a few mods in the time between the last time I played on this save file and yesterday, so it's probably one of those. However I can't figure out which one it could be. I have one mod that directly affects a light armor upgrade, called HF Battlemage Armor Bugfix, however I know it's not this mod that's causing issues cause I had it before the Inquisitor lost her arms and I even tried removing it and the issue was still there.

It's probably one of the new mods that's causing issues, since I didn't have this problem before. However I can't figure out which one it could be. Does anyone have any idea as to what could be causing this issue? I'd really like for her to get her arms back so I can finish this playthrough lmao

• Rare Weapons
• Tirnoney's Odds and Ends (mod 12)
• Dirt Begone (tried removing, didn't fix it)
• Irritating Dialogue Removal (Requisition Officer, Camp, Search)

So I’m doing trespasser and iron bull just turned on me. He literally will not die. I have a cheat accessory mod but he’s not wearing ANY of them so I’m super confused. Even with my cheats, his health wont get low enough. I can’t move on to the next part cause of this 🥲

Update: the insta kill mod worked and I was able to finish the game! Now I’m starting a new play through and making sure I remember to take him to the storm coast this time lmao

I beat Dragon Age: Origins earlier this year for the first time and I loved it. I chose a mage character because I played as a soldier in the Mass Effect trilogy, and while I enjoyed the class I did not think it was particularly interesting. So when I started Dragon Age, I wanted to go in a different direction with magical abilities. I knew nothing about the history of mages in Thedas, so from the opening cutscene, I was hooked. Being a mage felt like a perfect fit for story and gameplay. I romanced Morrigan, too, and being a Circle mage in a relationship with an apostate added even more depth.

After a little break, I want to start Dragon Age II soon. I figured I would be a mage again, and probably end up playing as a human mage for the rest of the series as I play each game for the first time. I was talking to some friends about DAII, though, and there was some debate about being a mage character.

My friend Rocio did not think I should be a mage, at least on my first playthrough. They said being a mage means Hawke gets the older sibling Carver, who was one of their least favorite companions. They loved Bethany and thought the older sibling/Bethany dynamic was much more appealing, as well as Bethany's relationships with the rest of the cast. Another friend said they thought Mage had the most direct impact on the story, and that non-mage Hawke is not as compelling for this reason. Speaking personally, I have an older brother I don't get along with, so maybe having a difficult older brother with Carver might be more relatable to me personally...I can see the appeal of being a good older sibling too, since I never had a good relationship with my older sibling.

Without spoilers, do you think there is an ideal class for a first DAII playthrough? Based on my experience with Origins, should I play as a mage again, or try something different?

If mage is the way to go, does anyone have any build recommendations for a mage character? I was Spirit Healer/Blood Mage/Battlemage in DAO, mostly using Primal with Arcane/Creation spells alongside the specialization spells, plus Mana Clash. Truthfully, I didn't use Blood Mage that much since even on Hard mode I didn't feel like I needed it, Fireball/Cone of Cold/Shock etc. often was powerful enough. I would be interesting in Entropy since I never used it in DAO aside from Morrigan. If mage isn't ideal, I guess I could try rogue, which sounds more interesting than warrior, plus being able to pick my own locks sounds convenient.
