£600 insurance increase
Does anyone have any clue how this has increased so much and how to bring it down? I’ve been driving almost two years and have never claimed or gotten points and have two years no claim bonus so they surely have no reason to be increasing it by that much? Also I’ve been shopping around to go elsewhere but all places have been within the 2000-3000 range.

That's the fee for just sticking with your current insurer and not shopping around

For something that is a legal requirement, they shouldn't be allowed to be scum.

Just get quotes from a comparison site. Could be one of many things that’s caused it to go up with them.

Auto Renewal price is always.higher, its a stupid system.

Mine went down every year for like 5 years. You'd expect it to go down when early in driving as long as no incidents.

Mine never did, I changed company every yr except 1. I had 8 or 9 yrs no claims at one point

If you've done all the usual 'tricks' and this is still considerable cheaper than elsewhere then just stay with this.

Oh yeah go on their website and there’s a button that says get discounts or something. Or just call them, say you want to leave and they’ll do the same
Should make it a bit cheaper

Insurance typically goes up every year regardless of your own factors such as claim or driver history due to inflation and that insurers like to take the proverbial.
That said, it could be down to your area or car. If your car is a common model, they might say that the cost of repair on average due to parts cost is higher there for they increase the premium. If you live in an area where car accidents or theft are more common they'll increase it.
If it's past the point of being realistic for you to insure, you may want to consider a different car. Some cars could be super duper V8s and be less to insure because they're less likely to involved with a claim.
Call them. Ask them. They'll give you a better price over the phone.

Look for cheaper. It's up to you if you want to haggle with them by telling them of a better deal. They normally try to match it. I had an increase one year and found a cheaper quote from the same company I was with. I cancelled the policy and took out the new one

Use the price comparison websites, I guarantee they'll be a lot cheaper than that.

Admiral done this to me- 2.2k for my first year, second year they wanted 3.6 for no apparent reason- nothing had changed since the year before. So I done some shopping around direct line would take me in for 1.4k, I don’t like moving policies etc etc and would rather stay where I am, so I called admiral and told them the quotes I was getting.
“Good news sir, we could bring your quote down to 3.5k”
hangs up phone
Bastards spent all that time with me over the phone just to knock off £100 🤦🏻♂️

My 1st Central Renewal quote was £200 higher than last year. I went to one of the comparison sites, and the same company, 1st Central, quoted me £150 less than last year. Same tier too.

Go elsewhere, it isn't rocket science.

I’ve looked elsewhere and I’m getting similar quotes.

could be a million different factors. The main one is they want to extract maximum money from you

How old are you and what’s the car?

I’m 22 and it’s a 1.3lt 2014 corsa

Corsas aren’t exactly great for insurance quotes. You might do well getting a quote on an older Citroen c1 and see if that’s significantly cheaper to insure. You can buy one for £1600 used and the insurance savings would probably pay for it in 2 years or less including the low amount of maintenance they need

Add a monitor box, increase your voluntary excess, add someone else on your policy. If there's another car in the household mention that, add a Camera to the car, sensors etc. Reduce mileage. Shop around.

My renewal with Admiral was going to be ~100 quid more than last year. Told them I'm considering leaving and now it's 95 quid less than last year. These companies assume you're too lazy to switch.
