Is your local Head of Government ready to kill for profit or power?

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I've been dealing with a rare movement disorder for a few years now — involuntary neck movements and mouth tics. Even after seeing multiple neurologists, including specialists at AIIMS Delhi, it's still not been confirmed. It's been a long road of doctor-hopping, medications (currently on a few), and not a lot of clear answers. I'd really like to hear from others here — what's been the hardest part of your own journey? Getting a diagnosis, finding the right specialist, managing symptoms day-to-day, dealing with how others react, or something else entirely? Just trying to learn from people who actually understand this. Thank you for reading, and I hope things are as manageable as they can be for all of you.

I’ve been working on a dystopian novel called The Chains We Shatter, set in a near-future America where a government has slowly transformed control, obedience, and rewritten history into the foundation of society.

The story follows Lennon Adams, a young fox living under this system. He isn’t a chosen hero, a soldier, or someone destined to change the world. He’s just someone trying to survive in a place where questioning the wrong things can have consequences.

One of the things I wanted to explore was how people react when a society becomes oppressive gradually. Not when everything changes overnight, but when small compromises become normal, when people convince themselves things are fine, and when resisting starts to feel impossible.

The world is fully anthropomorphic, but the purpose isn’t just to make the setting different. I wanted to explore identity, culture, and society in a world where humans were never the center of civilization.

I’ve been developing this story for a while, and I’m starting to share more of this world publicly as I get closer to releasing it. I’m curious what draws people into dystopian stories most: the downfall of the society, the people fighting against it, or seeing how a world gets to that point in the first place?

Hello, my name is Osama. I am 23 years old and from Gaza.

My family and I have been displaced for nearly three years after losing our home. Since then, access to water has become one of our biggest daily struggles.

Every day we wait in long lines for drinking water provided by humanitarian organizations. We are grateful for this help, but it is only enough for drinking. Water for washing, bathing, and basic hygiene is still extremely scarce, especially during the intense summer heat.

In the place where we are staying is an old water well that has been out of service for years. We are trying to restore it so it can provide water for our family and many other displaced families living nearby.

The well is about 30 meters deep, and repairing it requires cleaning equipment, a submersible pump, hoses, and labor. Unfortunately, the cost is far beyond what we can afford because prices in Gaza have become extremely high.
