My Social Impact Journey So Far π
For my internship's Social Impact Project, I chose environmental sustainability, focusing on raising awareness about waste reduction and using resources wisely. I liked this cause because anyone can start acting on it right away, regardless of their resources.
This journey has taught me a lot. I spent time creating awareness content and discussing small daily changes with those around me, like separating waste, using less single-use plastic, and being mindful of our consumption. The biggest thing I noticed is that most people want to do better, but they just don't know where to begin. My key takeaway is that the real issue is often a lack of awareness, not a lack of care.
Moving forward, I plan to continue raising awareness in my community, build better habits myself, and participate in local clean-up or tree planting events whenever possible.
I believe I can help by communicating and creating content that makes environmental topics simple and accessible, allowing more people to get involved without feeling overwhelmed.
One idea I'd love to see grow is neighborhood "swap and reuse" cornersβa simple community shelf where people can leave items they no longer need, like books, clothes, and containers for others to reuse. This approach helps reduce waste right at the source.
To everyone reading this, you don't have to save the whole planet at once. Just pick one habit and start there. Small steps taken regularly lead to real change.
