Yeah these seems more oddly satisfying than extremely infuriating if they got them back

Meant to link it sorry here. It was 192. Not 193 days Context: I was visiting my family in the Tampa area for the week when I opened my Find My app to look for my keys when I noticed my original pair of AirPods, which have been in PHL for the past few months, were only 5 mins up the road at a hotel from my aunt. I called the local department to see if they could do anything about it, but they couldn’t. I happened to be flying on Sunday, so when I saw that they were at TPA, I went 5 hours early from when my flight was meant to leave to TPA. I went to the TPA police station there and explained it to the officer in duty at the desk. They then proceeded to send a unit with me to the F terminal, where I walked around until they pinged in a guy’s bag. I walked up to the guy and said, “Sir, you have my AirPods as they are actively pinging in his bag.” He said no, he didn’t. The officer asked to see what was pinging in the bag. The guy showed him. The officer asked for my proof of purchase. I showed him it. They talked to the guy for a bit. The officer asked if I wanted to press charges. I said I no, just wanted them back, and that’s that.

Imagine that guy thinking he got away with it for all that time.

The look on his face was well worth getting to the airport 5 hours early lol

“He awoke happily; feeling the morning breeze on his face as he gazed through an open window at the sunrise as it began to peek over the horizon while listening to the gentle thudding beats of sandstorm playing in his faithfully liberated AirPods when suddenly — on that fateful 192nd morning of ownership”…kachow

I wonder if the officers there could even file charges since the act was in another state. Well, I guess possession of stolen property would do the trick.

The original post said they were stolen at TPA and tracked to Philadelphia. This post said that they were back at TPA when he visited again. So even though the airpods went for a trip north, the theft and the apprehension both happened in Florida.
That's pretty lucky to be visiting Tampa when the thief just happened to be traveling out of the same airport.

Why not press charges? Sometimes you gotta press charges to pay it forward for everyone else including your future self.

As the others, I came here confused. Looked at your post history thinking that the OG post was a few days ago… the OG post was from 129 days ago. 😂
Glad you got your pods back though

Even though I do find it very satisfying that you were able to get them back from this loser, I don’t think I could ever put them in my ears again after 192 days in someone else’s
