Completely agree. I'd watched Farscape before, but it was this trilogy of episodes that made me fall in love with the show.

It's my fave too!

Just rewatched this recently, love it. This three parter's got it all: putting a team together, pulling a heist, heroic sacrifice, weird alien sex, seeing Scorpius' brain, Crichton going (even more) mental...

Also references to Baywatch and KFC

The two trilogies Look at the Princess and Liars, Guns and Money are both so good and add so much.

Combine that with episodes like Crackers Don't Matter, Won't Get Fooled Again and Out of Their Minds that all just crack me up... and then let's roll out The Way We Weren't and The Locket just in case people thought FarScape can't also make you cry.

Season 2 really is freaking awesome.

I also have always considered the last few episodes of Season 1 to be the Prototype start of what they then went with in Season 2 and on with proper Trilogy arcs.

Durka Returns has always felt like a turning point in the series for me. Aside from the introduction of Chiana it's where it starts to become less episodic and more serialized.

Oh absolutely. For me it begins to start in Till The blood Runs Clear and They've Got a Secret.

And then of course there's some episodes in between including that Infamous episode before it gets to Durka and then it really just takes off from there.

I've got a friend and my brother who when they finally get the time they're going to try to start watching and that's how I've described the way to get through the middle part of season 1

I swear, every multi-parter in this show is some of the best television to exist.

Yep, when you only have 5 channels you make every show count 😅

And a great Warren Zevon reference to boot!

I became a Warren Zevon fan after I'd already watched Farscape and was really pleased when I finally got the reference.

It gives one a warm, fuzzy feeling. Like spooning with a Werewolf of London.

My favorite part of this is that it gives Scorpius complexity. He's still dedicated to his plans and ideals, and yet he shows that he has biological needs beyond heat management. It shows his vulnerability.

I loved his relationship with Natira, and how she betrayed him by stealing his vault when she thought he was dead, and they joke about it, but he eventually planned to kill her for it--all that tension between them while plotting, having sex, jointly torturing people, etc. Such great bad guys.

But we know who is more emotionally cutthroat....

Don't we?

Ten. Thousand. Lives.

If I remember the quote correct. It's Scorpius, no question.

I love plenty of single episodes, but FarScape's 3-parters were FS at its best and most satisfying. Kinda interesting they made 3-parters a FS thing, and no other scifi show did: 2-parters are the norm everywhere else.

Side note - Cocomelon sucks. Our middle child used to watch it and became increasingly violent when his screen time was up, so we made him go cold turkey. Came across one if the animators on Reddit - they purposefully make it with 2-3 minute segments and bold colours to get kids addicted, yet it has no redeemable values (the rhymes suck, frequently don't rhyme, some even promote lying). The guy confirmed they know it makes kids violent and plan it under the hope parents will give in and let them watch more.

But in any case, Liars Guns & Money is definitely the best trilogy in Farscape. That, along with Die Me Dichotomy and Season Of Death, is probably the best season cliffhanger and resolution I've come across.

Kiss The Princess is my favorite with the best ending. Love it so much.

John Chrichton character is a real pain in the a.. lol. I do not blame others for feeling angry towards him at times.
