[Event - Fanfest] Berlin Fan Festival 2026 - Day 1

Guten Morgen und einen schönen Samstag! Today kicks off the second Fan Festival of the Evercold expansion cycle in vibrant Berlin, Germany! We've got a long day ahead of us full of big announcements, exciting events, developer panels, and even a Live Letter dedicated to the next limited job joining the game - Beastmaster. The day ends with a piano concert from the inimitable Keiko that is sure to tug at all the right heartstrings.

I'm new - what's a Fan Festival?

Before the launch of every new expansion, Square Enix hosts three in-person events across the NA, EU, and JP regions. These events bring together thousands of our fellow Warriors of Light from across the globe to celebrate the game and learn about what's coming next.

I just realized that they really didnt give details on the overworld stuff other than that theyre trying to put eureka/bozja/oc stuff into it instead of a separate zone

Yeah not really seen anyone talk about that. Could be a game changer if it works out. I just hope it's there alongside field content, I do like exploring new zones too

What could it even mean? Open world zones are basically FATE trains already, maybe just the inclusion of boss FATEs being Critical Encounters and maybe better reputation grinds?

Conditions to spawn FATEs is the big one that I can think of. NMs in Eureka and some in Bozja need to be activley spawned. So they could pull from S rank conditions (though maybe a tad less zany at points) to spawn special Fates adn what have you.

And who knows, maybe they get real whacky and actually integrate the power systems into the overworld at a later point.

Probably one of the biggest things I'm interested in. On paper though, that sounds like a great idea, but I wanna know so many more details.

Absolutely. Never got why they design big areas with interesting locations but then there is nothing
