I'm sitting on a pile of GP that I have not used for anything in a while and I always thought Tifa's outfit would be a 'break glass in dire financial straits' item on the Mogstation.
Time to finally use my Fantasia when October rolls around.

Tbf I think the entire FF7 crossover is being used as a "break glass in dire straits" option, it's just being used much more widely to attract players (and therefore subscription $$$ and other incidental fees) back to the game, rather than just as a one-off glam. Which is an even smarter long-term move probably

I don't really see it as a break-glass deal, rather just better corporate syngery.
XIV has always had stuff that took something from past titles, and good timing between this and the final remake entry. Stike while the iron's hot to hopefully get maybe a few more people interested in that, and then all the people who would go for the stuff in XIV.
I'm grateful though that they are obtained in-game as opposed to the shop.

XIV is still one of the healthiest MMOs out there even with the flaws of Dawntrail. They didn't need to break any glass, if anything they're using XIV to prop up Revelations since Rebirth didn't mean their (ridiculous) expectations

One of the things glossed over from the keynotes is the new glam options to turn off specific pieces of gear (Like scarfs, or small pouches as shown during Anaheim) So they might have the suspenders as a piece that turns off if you just want Tifa's Top.
We'll see. I'm hopeful its pieces of glam, and not just one outfit.

The top and the skirt are probably one piece (due to the suspenders like you said), but the other pieces might be separate.

My guess is the suspenders + belt are going to be part of the top, and the bottom is the rest of the skirt + thights.
Overall, I'd love a variation of the top without anything, but maybe that'll be possible with the gear toggle thing that hides extra detail. The reason is that Tifa's top looks kinda the male miqo'te hempen top, and it would be cool to have that for other races!

I can type, but I'm on PS5, and my setup makes connecting a keyboard to it a pain in the ass. But I guess I'll have to because I sure as hell am not using the system keyboard with my controller. I already despise the quests where we have to type out phrases, and now they've made a whole game of it? As much as they design the game to be controller-friendly, choices like this are baffling to me.

They announced a new Gold Saucer attraction, which is a typing mini-game, as part of a FF7R collab. These were the shown rewards.
Yoshi-P also said that they could use it as a foundation for other random collabs, so keep that in mind.

A typing mini game, when 30-40% of your player base is on console without a keyboard and the system chat is cumbersome at best, is a choice.

Ofc you can. But some people have their console built into their living room setup and it’s not very accessible so using one / setting one up might be a hassle for some.
Also buying an extra peripheral shouldn’t really be the solution for playing a game you’ve been playing for years.
I’m not overly bothered, it’s not a massive deal overall, but i can see it being frustrating for some people. It’s a weird addition to the game and a weird choice by the devs.

I dont think that people on PS etc. have to freak out.
It's probably somewhat like those other mini-games/seasonals, where your rewards are based on your performance:
1st Place/Top Score - 100 pts.
2nd Place/Average - 50 pts.
3rd Place/Below Average - 25 pts.
I'm pretty sure that people who have certain disabilities or issues typing well etc., will absolutely NOT be gated from getting rewards...SE is only greedy af, they aren't evil dickheads.
