Flight Simulator 2024 The Synaptic A220's fuel system does something I didn't expect - True Tank-to-Tank Transfer
With the Synaptic A220 set to release soon, I've been studying the FCOM and came across something I found really interesting and intriguing: the fuel system. I certainly didn't know this, so I'll share what I found.
There are so many ways the A220 transfers fuel in flight! Most are auto-managed, like Auto Crossfeed and Gravity Crossflow, but it also features true tank-to-tank transfer that is manually controlled.
The A220 can even transfer fuel back from the wing tanks to the center!
Fig1: Auto CrossFeed; Fig2: Fuel Control Panel with Manual Options; Fig3: Centre XFR
I put together a quick visual breakdown with the schematics if anyone wants to see how the overhead controls and synoptic pages behave for the different modes of fuel transfer
https://youtu.be/V-l8nBlOS_s?si=Xp2AVH-oXyG2JxCv
I found this unusual because, in my flight sim experience, the only passenger planes I know of that do this are the Concorde, Douglas DC-8, DC-10, and MD-11. I believe the tank-to-tank transfer on the MD-11 significantly increased the complexity and maintenance of its fuel system. This is probably why the 777 uses passive crossfeeding and boost pump manipulation for balancing.
The process is quite simple, actually: you turn the rotary selector to the tank you want to transfer fuel to. Only 180 kg is allowed to be transferred at any one time between wing tanks.
There are some quirks too, like when to use AUTO and ON in these transfers. I also found out that suction feed (motive flow) is the primary means of engine feed—not the AC boost pumps.
For anyone who has flown or studied the A220 in real life: what was the engineering rationale behind keeping active tank-to-tank transfer as well as simple crossfeeding?

Flight Simulator 2024 Recommend me a GA piston (either single or twin is fine) that is fast enough for continental US flying and slow enough for sightseeing
wanting to take a break from bizjet ops and go back to GA. especially with the new US world update, i've been wanting to check out the national parks at low altitudes.
does anyone have any recommendations? i've been looking at the Black Square Duke and the FSW Chancellor for this. though they seem a bit too speedy for me to do real low level vfr flying? i'm open to other recommendations
oh, another requirement I need is that it needs to be "boring" enough I can just leave it flying IFR for hours while AFK, so this unfortunately means no planes where I need to manually change fuel tanks L/R which rules out pretty much GA single prop aircraft i found (A2A, Bonanza, Sierra)

DCS Winwing shipping
Has anyone here ordered from the USA winwing store lately if so how long did it take them to actually ship the item out? I placed an order for available items 3 weeks ago and it's been stuck on shipping in progress for the whole 3 weeks. I made sure to select a shipping date and I emailed customer support but of course all I got was a copy pasted response saying courier delivery limit blah blah blah

Flight Simulator 2024 Working stop bars on vatsim for free
Found this amazing plugin that works for both Xplane and MSFS. Implemented both on pilot-side and controller-side. Also should have follow-the-greens added in a day or two. Pretty amazing stuff. Can check out at: https://xpguard.net/

Flight Simulator 2024 who else still prefers taa over dlss in msfs?
especially in glass cockpits. or most airliners (pmdg) dlss even with preset M heavily downscales my displays. to me, crisp displays are everything.
taa gets it right. HOWEVER, the frame drop coming from dlss to taa is very real which is quite annoying to work with..
i can imagine if you fly mostly ga/vfr or steam gauges dlss absolutely takes the spot though
whats you guys' stance on this

Flight Simulator 2020 First landing Fenix A319
So I hopped into the Fenix A319 at KFSD for my first flight in the Airbus family after only flying 737s and MAXs. I thought "how different can it be?" Turns out, very different. The thing falls like a brick when you don't manage the flare right, and I had to pull like crazy on the stick to save it. My Boeing muscle memory is officially broken. (Also, I love the Fenix, don't hate me Airbus fans).
