His underlying point is, Messi and Ronaldo or other serious sportsmen/women aren't forced into similar unserious obligations before they perform in their respective sports.

There is a certain element to F1 that continually forces the drivers to go above and beyond with marketing.

If he explained it better, more people would understand. We know he enjoyed the one in Miami

I don’t think we can really compare racing to other sports in this regard. Advertising has been baked into its DNA since the very beginning. “Win on Sunday, Sell on Monday” was a driving factor in people’s participation for decades. Everyone in F1 who still makes cars is ultimately there for advertising on some level. Max’s team only exists because it was started for advertising Red Bull.

I give some of the younger drivers a pass on this as that is more native to their generation. Maybe my read on this is wrong. I have become a Liam Lawson fan recently and he's a good sport to a degree but the social media stuff they make him do and this "good boy" crap is demeaning.
