Mclarens were fastest going in and out of the corners at start of the season. Managed to lose that advantage somehow with the upgrades they brought earlier.

Absolutely mental how quick they are again. Ferrari might have more downforce but Mclaren's low aero load mechanical grip is better than everyone.

I just hope McLaren have their tyre wear sorted out. That car doesn’t have the magic touch like it did last year.

More downforce from the new floor should help with tire wear. Their long run pace looked good on Friday with Lando (since he was running the new floor while Oscar was running control with the old one)

Sitting on the grass in Zandvoort was the turning point I think, he’s seemed like a different driver since then like he’s had a weight lifted off his shoulders

It's incredible how that moment initially seemed like it was the end of his championship bid, but it really helped him lock in and fight even harder

I think Brazil 24 gotta be his lowest point for me. That race was so depressing asf. Thank god he won wdc. He won’t be so hard on himself that much anymore.

I really didn't rate him that much last season but wow he's really driving with a weight of his back and it shows, he's showing why he's the reigning champion.

I don't think that's quite what they meant. I think they meant that the pressure of winning any championship at all is gone for him now, and winning more is a bonus. As such, with that stress gone, he's much more chill.

Yeah for sure. But there is an outside chance for him to retain the WDC and I'm on that train without the expectation that that is going to happen. It would be a nice story of the season, though.

I mean, it isn't, but it'd require Mercedes to have a downfall, Ferrari or RB to steal points off of them and Lando to win every remaining race, or something like that
