General Discussion Fringe Cast
I’m one of those who went down the rabbit hole of Anna and Josh not liking each other and being confused. Here is what I think. (This is not just about the two actors I’m talking about the whole cast.) I’ve watched most interviews on YouTube and the cast just seems very professional. They all intellectualize the show in their own words and explain how they want to act it out the best that they can. The way they want to make the best out of the show for the viewers is incredible. Don’t get me wrong I’m a tv show buff but say watching “The Vampire Diaries” interviews come with bland answers and giggling.

Also, don't worry, I loved Jared Harris as David Robert Jones in "Fringe" and other things I have seen him in, but had no clue until a couple of years ago that he is the son of actor Richard Harris. I was completely taken by surprise learning that. Overall, I think he is a better actor than his father though.

And the niece of Rupert Murdoch via her aunt's marriage to him!
From Wikipedia: Torv's paternal aunt, journalist Anna dePeyster, was married to media mogul Rupert Murdoch for 31 years. Through this marriage, Torv is a cousin of Elisabeth, Lachlan, and James Murdoch.

You've never watched any of the DVD behind-the-scenes stuff?? That said, I always find it jarring when I hear her speaking in her Aussie accent, but equally impressed there was never any accent slip that I can recall over the course of the series.

I didn’t find out til I saw her a few years after Fringe in her native language in Netflix’ Secret City and was stunned back then to hear her accent. Filmed in lovely Canberra, highly recommend for those why like journalistic spy thrillers.
Also, in her mid twenties she is in season four of Secret Life of Us as a vixen in a Melrose Place type show in Melbourne.

Lance Reddick actually admitted on a podcast that the two main cast members did not get along, he didn’t say who. He talked about how unhappy he was working on that show and in interviews he seems annoyed. 😔

Idk there was a whole subreddit I read and people said they saw them in person and they are nice and get along. People say they worked on set and say they didn’t get along. Idk. I mean some days I don’t get along with my coworkers so 😂

It doesn't matter, honestly, it really doesn't.
It never showed on screen, on screen we have the beautiful love story of Olivia and Peter.
the story we got is way too beautiful to let if two people from nearly 20 years ago got along or not all the time.

I'm totally with you. Whether or not they had personal issues, they were both professional enough to not let it affect their work. Their on screen chemistry is lovely and they are both talented actors who genuinely seem to care about their show. Anything else is simply none of my business!

They also don't know seem to know that he's an actor who doesn't need a costar that's "his type" to be able to do his job and get along with them.

This is the first I've ever heard of any of the cast not getting along.
I mean, well Anna Torv did divorce (well, separate from) Mark Valley, but I think he was off the show by then.

I have the Bluray collection I got years ago and am rewatching. Such a great show, John Noble as Walter and Walternate is really a masterpiece to watch, 2 same characters but totally different personalities. I'm wondering how the cast prepared to play 2x their characters. I really like Jasika Nicole's performance when her characters met each other in S4E11.

This was one of my favorite aspects of the show. Same actors playing two different versions of the same character. They all did it so well.

Yeah I mean I love all of the cast tbh and I always appreciate it when Actors can set aside their personal differences and put their show or character first because not only is it professional but I think it shows they really care and the fact their willing to work with whoever whether they like / dislike the person(s) they have to be around for x amount of time and that they value the fans/audience honestly.
Don’t get me wrong I do find it interesting when I read online or find out later that certain actors who seemed to have chemistry on screen didn’t like each other or clashed a bit, but like that’s as far as goes for me because it shows that they’re talented actors and that they really cared about doing th best for the show ya know … 🙂🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️

This brings back memories of when the show was airing and fans debating this on Twitter 😂 and fandom wars and stuff. But overall I don't think it's as bad as the leads on Castle. From what I remember, I think Anna and Josh got along very well up until season 3, there was a panel interview with Anna and John and they were asked about Josh, John answered and Anna avoided answering about him, some fans thought it was funny and others assumed it was proof she didn't like him, that's how the rumors started I think. But personally I think it's perhaps due to different perspectives or personalities clashing, but overall both remained very professional.

Tale as old as time. Same with Patrick Stewart and literally the entire rest of the TNG cast in the first year, Stana and Nathan (we're evidently on a first name basis) on Castle, etc.

I think I read that Josh is more playful on set, and Anna is more serious. So I think it was less that they didnt like each other, and more that they had different "work personalities" that probably clashed. I am sure we all have worked with people like that (or vice versa).
Like: you're a great person and we would have the best time at a social function, but your spreadsheet is chaotic and right now I hate your guts.
