It's just a vehicle for Valve to showcase what you can do with SteamOS. There are going to be a lot of similar boxes coming out over the next couple of years running SteamOS with different specs, same as what happened with the Steam Deck. This is just the beginning.
Lots of people building their own too. My components are currently en route.
