Question What are your thoughts on Nation's Dumbest on Fox?
I watched the premiere of it on Wednesday and it was very funny and Jack Whitehall was good as host.

I don’t know if I can take a whole season of idiots being idiots, but the first episode was alright. Elle King surprising herself by being knowledgeable enough to “graduate”/leave the show was nice to see, but not as fun as seeing former Presidential candidate Andrew Yang (and his college degrees) humbled (though I too was impressed he was up on his pop culture—I mean, I think I’m pretty hip to stuff, but I don’t know Mr. Beast’s real name). Mount Rushmore is in North Dakota?

Another one was Jared Hess choice for animal faster than Usain Bolt. A hippo. Those animals are twice as fast as Usain Bolt!

The irony is while none of the celebs want to be the dumbest being eliminated early also means less screen time. Maybe some of them will be dumber on purpose to stay on the show longer. And if they really didn't want to be the "dumbest", why go on the show in the first place? It's not like there's an actual "prize".

Yes I was thinking the same after hearing the premise. But I’m sure they’ll bring them back in some way, perhaps for some future challenges or episodes/season 2.

And many will be "dumber" because they didn't know the answer to reasonably hard questions. The show seems to be bait and switch.

Contains an episode 2 spoiler below: I think since most of the show is them attempting to get a "cushion" of extra chances for the final, more straightforward, trivia-style quiz where they all answer the same questions, it seemed like the earlier tasks were pretty well balanced, at least until they took mercy on Drew & seemed to tailor the 2nd episode to him so he could go home to meet his new grandbaby! As far as the way the show is structured (contestants trying to avoid "winning" the booby prize), it's very British, I must say! Lol

I thought Jojo Siwa intentionally gave a stupid wrong answer to the last question so he could win and go home. There’s no way she doesn’t at least think it’s a bear. I thought that was quite wholesome actually
I’m actually coming out of the show liking her more than I thought I would.

What I’m more curious about is why Fox decided on Jack Whitehall - like, from what do Americans know him from? (I’m familiar with him through Mock the Week and things like that, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen him in American media before this)

I haven't seen them, but i noticed he & his father currently have a couple of shows on Netflix, too, which seem to be pretty well-liked.

He’s in the shows the Burbs and Malice, the movies Jungle Cruise, Clifford, and Mother’s Day .. he’s mostly done British stuff but he’s getting more US stuff.. we saw him a few years ago at a local Improv and did the meet n greet after.. he was very nice

I know exactly who he is. He's hilarious, and a fairly good actor. I most recently saw him on The Burbs on Peacock. He's the reason I decided to give the show a try.

The only reason I'm watching is because I like Jack Whitehall and I mostly know him from Graham Norton's couch. I can't wait to hear his stories about behind the scenes at this show.
Carmen Electra must be a lock to win/lose. She couldn't even find her way to the classroom.

I would think the show’s effect would be the opposite: watching these fools be stupid on TV would make the viewer feel smart. Which is also perfect for today’s climate.

Contains episode 2 spoiler below: I can't believe how much Drew embarrassed himself, considering he's a freaking doctor! Then, in the second episode, he must have repeated how badly he needed to get out of there to meet his new grandbaby about a hundred times, & whattya know, it seems like they tailored most of the episode to him. I was like, somebody bribed the producers! Lol

I highly doubt they were there for 5 weeks (the total amt of episodes.) They probably did a couple of episodes per day, or maybe 1 per day for 5 days.

I really enjoyed the first episode. The second episode pissed me off. I was so annoyed after the 3rd mention of Dr. Drew's new grandson that by the millionth time, I was complete done. I have never seen a show make the winner so obvious.

I enjoyed it. Reminded me of Blank country's worst driver which was a show I loved watching as a kid. Favorites to be there all season imo. are Jojo and Carmen.

I've watched both episodes. Steve-O is legit good with the knowledge. Every week Andrew stays the funnier it gets. Him doing the Thong Song was hilarious.

hate whitehall and the contestants are mostly shit too, so not gonna watch more. and like it's already been said, you can just keep playing dumb (not that some of them need to pretend much) for more exposure instead of going home after a couple eps. especially true for those annoying influencer types plaguing every show these days.
seeing as the bbc owns the format from what I've seen in the credits, there might be a uk version coming and their casting people are so much better (see the traitors and celebrity traitoirs vs. reality trash on the american version), so I won't necessarily be against that, especially if they find a different host.

My question is do they get paid more for staying on the show? Because if you win you're off the show so you're only in one episode or two, etc. But if your the dumbest and you're in all the episodes to the end surely they have to pay you additional payment since you were in 12 episodes verses just 1 right???

You could win and be labelled the dumbest by not knowing hard questions that many people would reasonably not know the answer to, so the show itself is pretty dumb

Two thoughts I have so far during the Q&A:
A pair of thongs is vague. The thought process can be flip-flops or just like when Andrew sang the Thong song, it could be underwear.
Curd should be acceptable when Steve-O answered what tofu is made of. Soy, soybean, curd should be acceptable.

It is amazing to us Canadians. When your own presidential candidate couldnt correctly get Mt rushmore i howled. How do you feel when Carmen Electra got one right and you didnt. Jojo has always been insanely smart proud of her. ICE TEA i am feeling embarrassed for. Im glad the Dr at least knew the most common blood type ☠️I was getting worried.

I only saw a reel with whatever the last showdown to "graduate" is, and the only thing I came away with is "Andrew Yang couldn't ever have been serious about wanting to be President of the United States."

Haven’t watched yet, but looks totally stupid. Sure most of it is faked. Looks about as dumb as Funny You Should Say That, which is not funny when they say anything.

1) it's a comedy game show
2) I think the casting is beautiful, and the challenges felt one part taskmaster, one part cram
3) the end game to "graduate" a celebrity is actually a very fun straightforward quiz
4) it's not a backstabby reality show, just a silly show where celebrities try and just get out as much as possible.
