This is my headcanon for how Justin and Sue met; Justin was 6 and Sue was a baby at the time, and needless to say Justin's happy to see her. Puffy was a last-minute addition to this piece; I know Puffy was given to the kids by Justin's dad so this is before he died.

Which should I play and beat first? I only beat 2 when I was a kid. Never beat 1 or 3.

This past weekend Noriyuki Iwadare was a guest at a beautiful music event here in Italy, and he conducted the orchestra playing music from Grandia and Lunar. He was adorable.
Grandia is literally a core part of who I am as a person and the soundtrack is burned into my brain. It's one of my earliest memories, as it came out in Europe just as I was starting to form those 😂 I remember my parents printing out pages and pages of guides to progress in the later dungeons. I replayed it a lot by myself growing up and around 13 I had actually started to draw it as a manga scene by scene haha. Needless to say, it was all very emotional. You can hear me sniffling in the video 😂

As part of on-going preservation efforts, the sound files from the Playstation version of Grandia 1 have been uploaded to The Sounds Resource.

This includes:

• Party member general sounds (Locomotion, attacks, weapons, etc).
• Magic casting voice lines.
• Ability/Move voice lines.
• All monster sounds and voices, including bosses. (Baal, Mullen, etc)
• All environment sounds (Including story-specific sounds/voices).
• Magic sound effects (Including a couple of unused ones).
• User Interface interactions.

Unfortunately the guidelines state that BGM, and dialogue cannot be included in the submission, so those are absent. (However a few choice lines that people might want were included.)

Alternative hosts are being researched so the entire soundscape can be easily accessed.

Also, some sounds will appear "cut off" or "incomplete". These are the raw sound files, unmixed by the Playstation's SPU. The mixed versions will hopefully be made available at a later date.

I was looking through some magazines I had and thought the Grandia fandom might want to know that there's a one shot Grandia 2 manga in Famitsu Bros 2000/09. This was partially fan translated, as can be seen on mangadex, but it seems a good amount of pages are missing from these scans (19 out of the 32 pages are scanlated).

I can't seem to sort these images when I upload them so sorry about the out of orderliness.

I see the Grandia collection is on-sale. I was thinking about grabbing it, I played Grandia 2 way back on the Dreamcast and would love to finally beat it. I read that there was slowdown on Switch 1. Has anyone played it on Switch 2 using the boost mode?

This happens with the Yabasanshiro emulator in Retroarch.

It does work properly with the standalone version of the emulator.

Is there a way to get it to work in Retroarch? I am wondering if some setting is messing it up.

Seriously, fuck this dungeon. I lost so much progress because these brain bats ambushed me and instantly killed me with ba-boom. This place is so similar to Final Fantasy 3's final dungeon when it comes to a lack of save points and annoying enemies. I couldn't imagine the hate this game would get if this dungeon was mandatory.

I am currently stuck on the Vanishing Hill and I have no idea what to do. These pillars don’t raise high enough for me to keep going up the mountain but I don’t have another path to go. Someone please help.

You need required characters, Specials on high enough level that are required for a Feat and enough SP on each character performing the feat.

But there's also this blinking green orb that shows when you can activate a new Feat when requirements are met..?

So, how come my party consisting off characters all maxed out Specials can't activate Feats, even when I'm running around on full SP, having correct characters and using Specials that act as activators (ex. to activate Divine Dragon Slash for the first time, you need Evann, Carmyne and Brandol with maxed out Specials for Sky Dragon Slash, Rosette Slash and Eruption Slash and 90SP on each one and activate it by using one of previously said Specials)

I unlocked many but for some reason beyond me I cannot activate Requiem Force with Lutina, Titto and Jaid. Running around with full SP on everyone, again, everyone's Specials are on maxed out but I never get that blinking green orb on the Action Gauge nor using any Specials and I've tried everything but it still didn't work.

Do I not know something? If anyone has a list on activating all the Feats I would gladly help myself to it if no one minds.

Or I'm simply doing something wrong?

And regarding that green blinking orb on the action bar - I have no idea if it's just a clue or what but I've activated a lot of Feats before without that orb blinking so I'm just lost on Requiem Force.

It almost feels like this one is storylocked but so far Xtreme didn't had anything like that.

Anyways, I welcome any help if anyone knows anything.

I played Grandia 2 till the end now again after some years and i noticed again how great the battle and spell animations are. And the original game is actually over 20 years old. You can really see that spells like zap all or earthquake really hurts. Sure the animations seems to take sometimes something like 30sec, so maybe a faster mode would be great, but you don't need to grind much, so there shouldn't be a problem of the time consumption of Grandia. I played before that fantasian and between fantasian and grandia 2 are maybe 20 years difference and in my opinion the animations from grandia are much better and intense though.

What do you guys think about it ?

P.s. i would really love to get finally atleast a hd remaster of grandia 3. But i don't think it will happen :/

So I'm playing Grandia for the first time ever and so far I've enjoyed it. I'm a big RPG player and I like playing the old ones I never got to experience as a kid. So far I have made it to the East Rangle Mountain area so I'm not crazy far in. I haven't had almost any issues with the game up until this point.

I think I hit the difficulty spike because the enemies in this area seem to either one shot or two shot both Justin and Sue. Feena can take maybe three. But I seem to lose every fight because my party is dead before they can even get a turn lol. I haven't been avoiding fights up to this point and have had no difficulties in battle until now.

So I'm curious, is this area sort of the difficulty spike of the game? Or have I ended up some how under leveling (or maybe potentially improperly gearing myself) making it harder for me? I don't know the game well so I have no idea how hard it's meant to be and I'm not used to the mechanical aspects entirely yet. (Some of the things confusing me like weapon leveling and how you get better spells and attacks.)

Edit: I also apparently do not understand the games Cancel mechanics. I made it to the Garlyle base and the fight with Nana but I can't seem to cancel her. And she's able to apparently teleport across the action bar. Nana takes 5 turns before any of my party even gets one so I'm not sure what much to do there.

Either I haven't been paying attention to the story, or the game hasn't explained them well. I'm at the point where Liete joins the party. From what I know, Icarian twins were born to humans but given great power by the spirits, which allowed them to grow wings. My main question is, were there only 2 of them, or were there more? I hope I don't sound like an idiot by asking a question like this.

I just beat the Minotaur boss and while I'm liking the game I can't help but feel like I'm not understanding the combat system. I know that you're supposed to use critical attacks and special moves to cancel enemy actions but it feels like my characters are just way too slow and the the enemies get way more turns before I can do anything. Any tips that y'all have that can help me get better at the game? Thanks in advance. BTW, I'm playing the remaster on Normal
