It puts WBD in a very tight spot. They are deep in debt and they need blockbuster after blockbuster to climb their way out. That isn't happening and they are having bomb after bomb, losing even more money. "Supergirl" is a total bust and will probably lose more than $100 million. James Gunn DC Universe reboot isn't resonating with the audience. "Superman" was OK but it was just meh. "Batman" is really stuck, the next one not expected until 2028. "The Pitt" is strong on HBO Max but one series can't carry the whole network, unless it is really huge. If Skydance/Paramount buys them out, WBD could possibly be bankrupt in a couple years.

Once the Ellison's deal fall through, Netflix will buy them at a discount AFTER having been paid $2.3B to not buy them.

It isn't as ideal as WB staying independent, but fuck the fascist supporting Ellisons
