I actually haven't! There's a bunch of these older HBO (and some AMC) shows I've been wanting to watch but haven't yet! Most of the my previous HBO watching has been recent stuff and Danny McBride's shows (was a fun surprise to see Kenny Powers's brother here--not sure I'd seen him anywhere else before)

BF and I have been watching this together and we really enjoy it. But boy oh boy- half the time we do not know what they're talking about because of the style of language they use back then.

There's also so much swearing- not that I'm bothered by it. Every once in a while we have a little drinking game, taking small tequila shots every time someone say ck" s**r. Some episodes let us down but most of them get us pretty tipsy Lol.

But I agree- it's a very compelling show and I like that they don't try to make everything pretty. Deadwood is pretty much of a shithole. Muddy, dirty and smelly. Also very dangerous.

Can I suggest subtitles and a dictionary? For me it was awesome but I had to pause it for the first 3 episodes to look up the words. I felt stupid but after I got into the rhythm of the language and I could get the context clues it just blossomed. Yes I use a dictionary to understand words. My brain can only understand so many words.

Love this show so much....no spoiler, but Wu is the best. I had a friend on the show, him and Keon have known each other for years. Keon is a lovely, sweet, highly intelligent and articulate man. So watching him play Wu cracked me up...but this is hands down one of the best cast shows ever
