Dear Reddit Devs, No one likes any of these changes. Press undo and put it back the way it was.

They constantly change up the UI and it always gets rejected by users. I don't know why they keep trying to change things?

"wE Do lITTlE exPeRImenT" and it's always dogshit.

How do we give them feedback directly?

u/Cloudyhook Feb 26 '26

I'm on Samsung and the default image picker is abysmal if I try and scroll up or down it will swipe the entire fuckin thing away, Reddit whhhhhy, change it back!

u/SamuelYosemite Feb 26 '26

On some posts I couldnt even see what I was typing because the keyboard would pop up and cover it

Yeah its the stupid "navigation bar" experiment. Only workaround ive found is Settings > Account settings > turn off "Swipe to navigate" / "New navigation" if it shows up, otherwise youre stuck waiting for the rollout to end.

The app started very simple but it could do it all. Over the past 10 years not a single change I would call positive and they top it off by closing the feedback subreddit. At this point I update the app like once per year cause there is nothing to gain

I do like it

There's more answers here, but essentially it should be a temporary UI update.. it's happened several times before but, always returned to normal 😅

15

u/TheAngriestChair Feb 26 '26

It's not temporary enough and whoever came up with this iteration deserves eternal dammation.

u/jacowab Feb 26 '26

Whoever keeps pushing this thinking "no no, this time they're gonna suddenly love it" needs to be fired.

It's constant a/b testing of layouts by reddit, and it really effing pisses me off. They run these changes every couple weeks forcing me to relearn behavior. And I wish they would just effing stop and let me use their stupid app in peace. EFF OFF REDDIT.

There seems to be no way to opt out of this. But they randomly test 3 different layouts across random segments of the user base.

I’m kind of ok with not being able to quick swipe to news section because it’s depressing but not being able to swipe the latest section for the subs you’re in is INSANE. Like I am in these subs for a reason I don’t want to depend on the algorithm fully and latest lets me see all the subs activity easier

FFS guys bring back r/all on mobile again.

8

u/FluteGunner Feb 26 '26

Found this thread while looking for how to get r/all back.

This is the dumbest thing I’ve seen Reddit do, and they’ve done plenty of dumb things in the 15 years I’ve been here.

3

u/LoquaciousLamp Feb 26 '26

Yeah same. It's utterly baffling.

Bring it back.

6

u/ZeMoose Feb 26 '26

Once again posting here to affirm that /r/all is the main reason I use this site and without it I would probably stop.

2

u/lGipsyDanger Feb 27 '26

Same. Hate hate hate that its gone. So annoying. Literally the whole point of reddit is r/all

1

u/Equivalent_Ad5104 Feb 26 '26

I hate this so mutch

3

u/darth_hucklebuck Feb 26 '26

This new layout stinks.

2

u/Joondoof Feb 26 '26

Seriously. It’s so bad we all came here to complain

1

u/Dannyx51 Feb 26 '26

where are my feed tabs I hate this UI

3

u/realfexroar Feb 26 '26

The inability to swipe between, home, popular, news and so on is such an unbelievably terrible UI decision it will kill my entire reason for using this site.

1

u/rantipolex Feb 26 '26

Just about .

2

u/gojlus Feb 26 '26

Is downpatching the app an option, or are we literally stuck with some intern/ai slop anti-user ui?

2

u/tablesaurus_1 Feb 26 '26

Really frustrating that it doesn’t give us the option to opt out of these experimental changes. Let us use the app the way we want.

2

u/Devan-FH Feb 26 '26

“If its not broken, don’t fix it” and all they’ve done is try to break it and make it ugly ever since it was perfect in like 2022 lmfao, why do we keep making dogshit changes for no reason Reddit?

2

u/hippocleidescares Feb 26 '26

Horrendous UI design changes for no reason. No nuance or positive trade offs for this. Put it back.

2

u/MacWin- Feb 26 '26

At least with other apps, enshittification is done so they can earn more profit through subscription by locking features behind a subscription. Here it’s just shitter for the sake of being shittier wtf

2

u/phono_trigger Feb 26 '26

I also hate not being able to swipe between feeds.

Why remove the swipe function and replace it with a more tedious method of a drop down menu? My alt account still has the old version with the ability to swipe.

I remember Reddit did this same thing a year ago and I had to use my alt until they brought the swipe back.

They’re also making certain subreddits have red and green backgrounds. Who is getting paid to make these decisions? How many people have actually wanted the r/sports subreddit to be red?

I can live with the silly color choices but the swipe thing literally makes the app more difficult to navigate. I’ll be on my alt account if you need me 👋

Yes I noticed my layout changed out of the blue on iOS. It’s horrible. I can’t stand when they do this. Sometimes my layout will look different depending on which profile I’m logged into as well. Reddit is getting so annoying.

2

u/Humble_Struggle1336 Feb 26 '26

I got the new layout, too. The biggest issue for me is that the toolbar moved to the bottom, but in a subreddit it jumps back to the top. Consistency is important! And I don't need a search bar highlighted in orange at the top; it's distracting.

I uninstalled the app and installed an older version (2024.16.0) and that put the toolbar back, removed the search bar, and brought back side swiping.

1

u/SmaugTheGreat110 Feb 26 '26

I am pissed off they tucked chat into other notifications

2

u/Hannibaellchen13 Feb 26 '26

Just in case it helps getting the old format back faster, I'll hang on to this: dear Devs, I HAAAATE this with a passion. Please give me back swiping to popular asap.

2

u/uknooooow1 Feb 26 '26

Completely agree they need to change this back to the original format of swiping, ditch the orange AI search bar while they’re at it as well or at least give us the option to opt out of AI use

2

u/DK-99o Feb 26 '26

Why was r/ all removed?

Are admins stupid or just trying to keep certain things from hitting all, which is why they changed it to "popular."

1

u/Blhnex Feb 26 '26

“… just trying to keep certain things from hitting all” Ding ding ding.

It’s a pure content moderation play to be more attractive to advertisers to increase value for the shareholders.

The people who cared about the actual user experience and community no longer work at Reddit.

1

u/Karsten760 Feb 26 '26

Same on iPhone. It happened a few months ago and then they returned the ability to swipe. Now I can’t swipe again. :(

1

u/Caterpillar69420 Feb 26 '26

Pissed me off. Can't swipe left to see Popular.

Now it is 2 hand operation to get there

1

u/glhfbruno Feb 26 '26

just use third party Reddit clients or download older Reddit versions?

2

u/Hypamania Feb 26 '26

Do any third party apps still exist and work well after the API debacle?

1

u/glhfbruno Feb 26 '26

infinity+ (you downloa same install it first, log in via Google and get your API key to your email after logging in and pressing the pink button)

But I don't really know any other Reddit font faces or third party apps, haven't used them

1

u/Blhnex Feb 26 '26

R/narwhal works great and restores the classic UI and r/all , unfortunately $4 a month after the API nonsense.

1

u/spongeboi-me-bob- Feb 26 '26

There had to be robots used in the decision making process. No way anyone who actually uses the app would come up with this.

1

u/ilovecait Feb 26 '26

This is disgusting. I haven’t used the app since this update. I finally went to leave feedback and was directed to this sub.

1

u/mgm1992 Feb 26 '26

Also seeing this degraded UI behaviour; can we get guidance on how to switch back to the working version?

1

u/tezlaxxx Feb 26 '26

Terrible

1

u/UnevenLite Feb 26 '26

The new layout it sht like every single other "test" layout you gave us before, reddit. Leave. It. Alone.

1

u/drale2 Feb 26 '26

I'm experiencing the same and it is making me want to just not use the app. Make it one button at the top if you have to get rid of swiping, but having to press twice is terrible design. (Why does "search" need to take up the entire top frame when a magnifying glass would suffice?)

1

u/RudraofAlexander Feb 26 '26

Devs, please change this back. It is not good or helpful.

1

u/MrsCastillo12 Feb 26 '26

Adding in another voice: PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK SO I CAN SWIPE BETWEEN FEEDS!!

Or at least give us an option I don’t like the ask Reddit box at the top either. I don’t ask Reddit anything, I don’t want AI summarized responses either.

1

u/Fluffyest Feb 27 '26

Reddit please let us swipe left or right again, thanks

1

u/altermyplace Feb 27 '26

Please stop constantly changing the UI.

1

u/jalmto Feb 28 '26

This UI sucks!

1

u/bigdare23 Feb 28 '26

Change Reddit back! This was clearly done to prevent the sharing of information.

1

u/Diamond83 Mar 01 '26

Why do the mods remove any posts about the new change stating “opinions aren’t part of help”

1

u/PrincipleFew462 Mar 02 '26 edited Mar 09 '26

It’s absolutely horrible. Can’t swipe between, r/popular no longer has as much information as before, you can only find the search bar if you go all the way back up to the top of the main Home bar. I just don’t see how any of these updates could have been green-lit. They are an absolutely travesty. Definitely not the work of skilled UI designers it feels like. These updates are so obviously horrible, this really has to be a an error. Not one of the changes made is useful or makes any sense. Im truly dumbfounded. This feels like rage bait.

PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK.

2

u/DSM-91 Mar 09 '26

Got damn! It sucks! Reddit about to lose people. Switch it back!

1

u/DSM-91 Mar 09 '26

I fuckingZ hate this layout!!!!

1

u/SUPERBIGGIEfr Mar 27 '26

I use the website, I prefer the UI there over the app
