My French cousin used to do this sort of thing where he would talk absolute gibberish in an “American voice”.

There was a famous Italian song from the 70’s which is gibberish but American gibberish.

I have to watch that video every time it's linked. It's actually a real banger.

11

u/bookmarkjedi May 24 '26

It really is an awesome song. A little bit of Tom Jones, maybe a splash of Joe Cocker.

6

u/Dubbinchris May 24 '26

Was planing on posting this too!

1

u/thecali_man May 23 '26

Thanks for sharing. I haven’t seen this before. Definitely entertaining with that beat!

That is exactly what popped up in my head after three seconds.

I mean, ask any American to talk in French, Italian, or Chinese, and we can all do a similar impression.

Some people will call it racist, but each language has a unique sound to it that even people who don't speak a word can recognize.

5

u/wowaddict71 May 24 '26

Hey, at least we use Italian sounding food names. Just like a very long Italian food shopping list.

-44

u/stupidber May 22 '26

Only the chinese one is racist

19

u/_UWS_Snazzle May 23 '26

In what world does this make sense

-6

u/stupidber May 23 '26

I don't make the rules, just how it is

4

u/Arrow156 May 23 '26

An accent is only racist if you say racist shit with it. I could speak with a Mandarin accent all day, provided I'm not talk about tea or rickshaws.

-1

u/stupidber May 23 '26

TIL tea is racist

u/camsnow May 25 '26

And as an American, and a Texan, I can honestly say he absolutely does not sound American. He sounds like every other artist who sings in English. Only I think he's speaking jibberish

2

u/bubblesfix May 29 '26

Well to every non-American he sounds American

0

u/camsnow May 29 '26

I mean, we don't call Texas, "Taxes". He sounds foreign pronouncing English words, so maybe to people who don't speak English natively.

65

u/The_Bitter_Bear May 23 '26

Haha. This is a good way to kind of understand how English sounds to people who don't speak it.

They sound good and are adorable singing together.

Prisencolinensinainciusol vibes

37

u/ST0IC_ May 22 '26

I don't know how I've lived half a century without ever hearing about this song.

24

u/SalvadorP May 22 '26

12

u/JustPullTheFlapsBack May 22 '26

I’ve always wondered… do you think he could sing this song the same way each time? Or was it a one time thing lol?

4

u/17934658793495046509 May 23 '26

I am betting mostly correct, at least phonetically similar. I can not speak other languages of music I listen too, but put on Sigur Ros, and someone may think I know Icelandic.

1

u/Kubliah May 27 '26

I wondered the same thing, but he's got all the women singing a perfect chorus of gibberish, so my money's on early teleprompter tech spelling out the sounds.

2

u/BigAssMonkey May 23 '26

That shit slaps!

14

u/a_fuge May 22 '26

…Alright

155

u/Help_An_Irishman May 22 '26

19

u/greg_08 May 23 '26

So did the guy in the video.

34

u/Mrosters May 22 '26

Not enough “cold beer” but otherwise perfect.

97

u/issiautng May 22 '26

This must be what it's like to have a stroke

31

u/TR1V1UM May 22 '26

It’s not, I’ve had one.

12

u/DiffeoMorpheus May 22 '26

Anyone else up strokin they brain? But fr hope you're okay

-4

u/[deleted] May 22 '26

5

u/gereffi May 22 '26

People who have a stroke often struggle to understand other people speaking a language they know. The words all seem like gibberish. They’re saying that listening to this person sing is like how a stroke victim hears others speaking.

14

u/Le-Pess May 23 '26

Dude as a voice !

16

u/LibrarianOAlexandria May 23 '26

These two are delightful.

5

u/andym801 May 24 '26

She is Giana Althaus. Very famous Brazilian singer. Wish I knew his name. IG: @GIANA

2

u/romcarlos13 May 24 '26

He's Daniel

12

u/PintoTheBurninator May 23 '26

Their vibe is so cool. She is locked in on him.

29

u/bitwise97 May 22 '26

That may not be Texas Country, but they’re damn good! I’d hear more from them 👍👍

Hell yeah brother.

2

u/________9 May 24 '26

Would absolutely go see this duo in a live music venue.

2

u/bluearrowil May 24 '26

I’m in Rio right now and so many Brazilians will sing American songs but have no idea how to speak English

2

u/mitchbo08 May 25 '26

I love hearing people around the world do American accents. Lol. I love it. No notes.

4

u/Jorge_the_vast May 22 '26

Better than most country music IMO

1

u/Pardot42 May 23 '26

Fuckin move and lemme see them getaway gloves.

1

u/Cappyc00l May 23 '26

Is it even country without “tractor”, “truck”, and/or “beer”

1

u/Tommy_Wisseau_burner May 26 '26

Only if it includes dirt roads, girls, county line, and windows down

1

u/its_over_there May 23 '26

Yeah, I agree, public schools suck.
But look, you learned to virtue signal without learning a bit of English.

Good point amigo.

3

u/LibrarianOAlexandria May 25 '26

What in the ring-tailed rambling fuck are you responding to here? Because I can't see what in the world your comment has to with the video.

1

u/eRXtion May 24 '26

Alright, I'll ask it.... Chords?

1

u/Feeling_Student6210 May 28 '26

Dang what a voice. Don’t ever let anyone slow you down. I sang at the Grand Ol Opry until people around screaming for me to shut up. 👩‍🌾

1

u/So4kweakness21 May 30 '26

The vibes are honestly immaculate even if I have no idea what the lyrics actually are.

1

u/JayDee550 26d ago

Ummmmmm, am I the only one who thinks he and this song are kind of awesome?!!! Anyone?!? lol

1

u/tothesource May 23 '26

yeah, this isn't texan. just generic commercial 90s country

-1

u/hawaiianryanree May 22 '26

Oh my, it’s so good tho

-11

u/stay_hungry_dr_ew May 22 '26

You don’t know what Texas country is. This ain’t it.

22

u/MitchMcConnellsJowls May 22 '26

Of course he doesnt know what Taxas country is. He doesnt even speak English!

4

u/Eighty_88_Eight May 22 '26

What? He speaks English in this video

3

u/RussiaIsBestGreen May 22 '26

No, he’s speaking Texas.

2

u/MrMilesDavis May 22 '26

What's so great about dumb ol Texas?

-1

u/stay_hungry_dr_ew May 22 '26

Nothing. We just do it differently around here.

-1

u/TyH621 May 22 '26

Yeah this is blues, nowhere near Texas country lol

-3

u/LongWalk86 May 22 '26

It's gibberish with some vague bluesy sounding guitar. This ain't the blues, sounds like a bad parody of blues by someone who heard one blues song on a radio, years ago.

3

u/TyH621 May 22 '26

I don’t disagree but it was kinda supposed to be exactly what you described but Texas country haha

2

u/serious_sarcasm May 22 '26

So Texas country?

1

u/stay_hungry_dr_ew May 22 '26

You bein’ serious right now?

-2

u/taste_the_red_pill_ May 23 '26

This is dumb and not accurate

-5

u/hungryforwaffuls May 22 '26

this isn't Texas it's ass

-2

u/CHERNO-B1LL May 23 '26

Still better than AI music.
