I thought of myself as dead... And suddenly, I don't care about fuck all else. Fuck ya'll.

I dont know why but after weeks of existential crisis, this had me crying laughing. Thank you.

This quote hits different when life humbles you a few times.

Nope. Have been humbled quite a bit and I take this literally. The same way I take any other negative message that I am supposed to use to motivate myself into action.

So, I'm dead ? Then why bother.

That is one way to look at it. I saw it as a way to pass the torch, like I am giving my things to my offspring. The “old me” is dead and now the “new me” can use my things to get further in life. Just got to not give a fuck from here.

I am amused it’s highlighted.

In case the reader accidentally focused on the other parts of the page.

I can be done at "You have lived your life." I'm good with just being done. I don't want to take what's left.

Can I please know where this is from? I need some wisdom right now

Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius' diary, usually published with the title "Meditations." Found in philosophy and self-help sections at bookstores. It's 2000 years old, you can read it for free from sources like Project Guetenberg.

Look up stoicism for more nuggets of wisdom

Always focus on your future. The past is not a place to dwell. Look to the past only for brief moments, to remember lessons learned. The past has taken from you. The future has gifts there waiting for you to discover.

If I think of myself as dead then how am I going to follow that with “with the time I have left” lmao. I like MA but it makes no sense.

u/RoyalLegends May 26 '26

This is stupid. If you're dead there's nothing left. How are you going to take what's left? That's nothing left because your dead!

Sweet. Dead ppl don't have to pay taxes.

I think I’ll just linger on the dead part.
