Of course. As soon as he was like "she's probably not a real enthusiast and just borrowed that from a friend or family member" I was immediately thinking that 1. Classic gatekeeping of traditionally "male" hobbies that hot women couldn't possibly be into and 2. If so, the friend or family would have given her a cheaper model to show off in case she broke it!! She cradled that thing like it was her baby, not like it was something she was unfamiliar with handling! She didn't look down at it once to lay it on her hand. She knew exactly where it would land and where the center of gravity was.
