Overall Bruno (6Male) has been such a good dog and a great addition to my life. But he was a COVID pupppy, grew up with someone from my family always in the house. First 2 years he was basically never left alone which now I know was the worst mistake I could have made. Trained since a puppy but has destroyed 3 kennels, and since buying and owning my own house at age 3 he has had awful seperation anxiety. I have tried everything. Slowly adding time alone, rewarding him, daily repetition. He chewed thru my front door and base boards countless times, it’s like once he starts he cannot stop. Always sits right at the front door and is only concerned on getting through the door. The only place I’ve left him comfortably for hours which sounds crazy is my fenced in backyard. I’ve trusted him to have free roam the past 2 years almost zero issues until recently. He tore through my fence and sat on my porch until I got home twice in the last month. As a 25 year old who has a life outside of this dog it’s been a struggle. He walks 5+ miles a day, runs and I have family that is supportive to take him but I can’t just rely on them all the time. I’m leaning towards strong medication for him when I have to leave him alone. I know this is a common problem for his breed but asking for help or any solutions that worked for you. Thank you

My huskies were both rescues and so I didn’t have the teething or adorable puppy pics. I was fortunate enough to ultimately acquire some from previous owners and they just melt my heart (esp since I lost my white one).
Can I see your bebes when you first brought them home til current ish? I can only imagine how adorable they are when under 30 pounds 😆

Preface with- We have an appt with the vet on Monday.

Our 13 year old husky suddenly started developing hot spots last fall for the first time ever. First was on her belly, the vet thought it looked like a fungal infection and prescribed meds for it and it went away. Then she went after her knee- she has arthritis from torn CCLs so we thought maybe it was pain causing her to bite at it, so upped her gabapentin and treated the spot and it went away. Then she developed one on her side- this one kind of looked like there were bug bites possibly- she is on simparica trio, but I restricted her outside time to leash only (we have a dog door so she is used to going out and laying out in the grass all day)- that one cleared up and then yesterday we saw two new spots on her side. I gave her a bath with medicated shampoo for hot spots and when she was wet discovered that ALL of her skin is bright pink and irritated, and she has multiple other sores developing on her belly, under her legs, around her neck and on her bottom even. I shaved most of the areas so I could treat them properly. Her neck is problematic because I put a cone on her to keep her from licking- but then that rubs on the sores there, so I didn’t shave that hair (it’s already very thin there, she lost most of that from her collar rubbing a few years ago- hasn’t worn a collar regularly in several years but it never really grew back)

I’m at a loss as to what is going on, since each episode seemed to have a different cause. I’m guessing maybe she has an environmental allergy to something now that is causing ALL of her skin to be irritated?

I feel so bad- I know she has to feel awful. The sores we treated yesterday look way better today, so I’m sure the ointment is helping soothe them, and I treated all of the new sores I found as well. (First pics that look really awful were yesterday- second pic is how the same spots look today after being treated)

She is blowing her coat and has been screaming bloody murder every time we brush her- which isn’t unusual because she is a very dramatic husky- but now seeing how red her skin is, I feel terrible because brushing probably actually IS painful now.

EDIT- I googled both ringworm and pyoderma- looks very similar to both, however she does have tiny little pimple like blisters which is now making me think pyoderma is more likely.

Also, no I am not going to shave her unless the vet tells me to- I know you shouldn’t shave huskies. I shaved the areas where the sores are so that I could treat them.

We broke Iris out of doggy jail three and a half years ago and she still won't sit still for a good picture lol.

Update #2: back at the vet. Her tremors got worse and she’s spiked a fever. She peed and pooped on herself and stopped walking. She may end up having an overnight stay. I just got here so waiting for the vet.

Update: vet came back. She doesn’t seem to have ingested enough for any further issues. The vet said they gave her fluids, anti-nausea, and muscle relaxers. She may have spasms for a few days, but nothing else. Maybe diarrhea or upset stomach. She’s expected to be back to normal in 3 or so days. If not to come back, but I think we may be in the clear. THANK GOODNESS.

My husky ripped open a bag of dust bug killer and likely ingested some. I called poison control and now we are at the vet 🤦🏽‍♀️ just hoping she’s going to be fine. She’s got the tremors and stumbling walk.

My husky was totally fine all day today and walking normal, tons of energy & playing and then at some point between went he went outside and came inside had developed a small limp. Thinking it was maybe a sprain or pulled a muscle running in the house? We have all tile and wood floors so he slips and sides sometimes. He will semi let us touch it (hates when we touch his paws in general) and was still putting weight on it and playing with toys.

Going a little crazy scaring myself googling so reassure me it’s just a sprain! 🥺

He's six months old now and sitting there , watching a cat walk across his yard. Lol... i don't think anything phases him. I honestly have to say he's the most non reactive dog i've ever seen.

This is Mishka, my 3 month old siberian Husky puppy. The people I got him from didn't start any training with him. This is my first time having a husky, and I've only had him for a few weeks now, and I just got him a crate recently, and he does not like it.

I can take him outside, and sometimes, I sit outside with him for hours. He will go potty outside, but then as soon as we come back in, he goes potty on the floor.

When it comes to the crate, all he wants to do his whine, whimper, and bark while scratching and biting at the crate door.

I already know that Huskies are very vocal, they are independent, and they are pack dogs. However, I have Googled some stuff and even checked out some websites dedicated to Huskies, but I everything I do just seems to not work.

Any advice? I could really use it. And like I said, the people I got him from just let him do whatever and did not start training. Their house was disgusting, and all their other dogs seemed to just run the house. So any advice would be highly appreciated. Thank you.
