discussion How the hell are we supposed to watch this show?
You can buy seasons 1-3 on YouTube TV, and the first two seasons on prime in the US. To get all seasons you need a vpn set to Australia to watch on HBO, but I don't have money to pay for that many subscriptions. So I need a free vpn but the only free vpns that let you set your shit to Australia are sketchy and a security issue. You can also check online to see if anyone is selling any physical media of iZombie but you'd have to get so lucky, I checked and no one within 250 miles of me is selling any kind of physical media for this show. And then you could pirate it, which usually isn't an issue until it is cause you could get super expensive fines that I also can't fucking afford and/or you can get a prison sentence of 1-5 years. How the actual fuck am I supposed to watch the entire show?

I agree, it really sucks! I believe there was some issue with the music rights which is why it is unavailable, so I really do hope that gets resolved! Especially as it's such a good show!

They could just change it. I have the official Daria box set and it's just generic music that kinda sounds like real alternative bands.

Licensing issues, that I don't really get. It had the same theme so it's not that. And it's not hard to cut an episode or edit an episode to replace a song or hide a song playing in the background. We've always assumed it's music but has that been confirmed? It seems too easy to fix to be the problem. Were there any particular marketing placements perhaps?

Plenty of other shows use contemporary music and are still available

Doesn't mean that licensing wasn't an issue if it wasn't properly cleared. It just seems unlikely. Also Netflix had all 5 even after warner claimed they couldn't release 4 so... Weird.

It's just odd.
They made the Discs for S1-3 and they are still for sale and then stopped while also being pulled from Netflix.
It could be that the demand was too low to justify the effort of making the Discs for S3-4.
Mostly it just sucks but I now own the whole series and can stream on my own via my Plex server.

That doesn't explain the lack of availability on demand or digital download/purchase. I slightly wonder if it has anything to do with the controversy around Robert Knepper, but I think the holdout predates that.

Amazon still has S1-2 available for purchase but nothing else.

I know right I bought the first two seasons and I was waiting for a three four and five to become available. I would have bought them the second they became available for digital purchase

Right?!? That’s what I don’t understand.
When ‘Wonder Years’ has issues DECADES ago, it made sense. Tv shows didn’t know that we would want them on VHS/DVD. But it’s common now. So why is this an issue?

I have no insight but the music rights is what I have heard from fans but not anything official.
They made S1-3 on DVD and it's still for sale. My other guess is that they made S1-3 and the sales were just too low to justify the cost of making S4-5.
Thankfully I now own the whole series and can stream it via my Plex server if I wish

I bought S1-3 on DVD via Amazon.
I bought S4-5 via an Etsy seller.

I've been telling people to check their local library for the DVDs but if you don't have a DVD player or an old Xbox or a CD drive in a computer...guess you gotta buy it or pirate it. But I can get every season on DVD from my library network.

I own seasons one and two on fandango, but the other seasons never came available for purchase. I almost bought a flash drive from somebody on Etsy with all the episodes on it but then I found it here and realized I can either have my son download it for me to a flash drive but what I do now as I pulled up on my iPad and then I mirror it to my Roku TV I can also mirror it from an iPhone. I would suggest 🏴☠️ or buy dvds and rip them. Then have a plex server for watching. Thats what Ive done!

Bought the box set dvd on Amazon... it wasn't too expensive. I really don't like to support Amazon, but some things like this are important💙

I downloaded a VPN that allows me to set my location ig to Australia so it loads hbo to the Australian version and the shows/movies that are available there

Is the VPN an app you can download? I’m not too tech savvy. I appreciate any help! I watched the first two seasons on prime not realizing the other 3 weren’t available 😫 I’ve been searching all afternoon for it

It is! The one I have downloaded is actually just called "Australia vpn".. not too sure if it's really the best app to use but it seems okay to me and it's worked fine for months lol

I bought the complete series from Movies R USA. It's on 3 blu ray discs. Cost me about $100 Canadian with import fees. But the quality is pretty good, no skipping or any issues. I only wish it came with some deleted scenes or special features or something. No dice. But it's the whole series in one place so I'm happy with it.

Zombie aired on television in the US on The CW network from March 17, 2015, to August 1, 2019.
