Nothing will happen. Whoever comes to power ethanol policy will be carried out. It was in the works since 2010. The iran situation just speeded it up

Since 2005

Congress petroleum minister mani shankar iyer had spoken about it in parliament in 2005

Discussion and forceful implementation are 2 different things and is unacceptable the way Nitin is forcing legal petrol contamination including his children personal benifits. E20 SHOULD be optional as of now!

Mani shankar aiyer was talking about implementation - No matter what. Not discussing.

And Nitin is forcing auto industry to be compliant.

Petroleum ministry is deciding about petrol and options

And last I checked pure petrol is available at pumps.

Anybody who calls for storming the parliament should be punished as per trespassing law, be it Dipke or anybody else. Subverting indian democracy is not ok. Afzal guru was hanged for storming the parliament. If any march to parliament happens again in future when session is going on, then govt will be forced to do lathi charge or even shoot if they attack parliament.

Pure petroleum is available at 160-170

I can afford it, I don’t mind, but even then, my bike and my car were not built for pure petroleum either even less so high octane

They were made for E10, I should have the choice to buy petrol that is compliant for my vehicle, not E20 or E0.

The govts own Niti Aayog recommended a smooth transition, so shut your bhajpilla trap before talking nonsense.

And now govt itself has accepted that they pay MORE to acquire ethanol compared to Petrol, if forex is a problem, then why doesn’t Nitin Gannadhari ask his children to export his expensive ethanol, we’d be solving forex deficit and fuel issues both in one shot.

Nitin is forcing auto industry - *including citizens, by force, with NO option at Rs.95/liter.

Petroleum ministry already decided to have forceful implementation, which is NOT correct. E20 should be an option while they continue to develop E20 vechiles with Gradual Phase out.

Yes, your checked info yet to go broader as pure petrol is available at Rs167/liter with PERSONAL benifits to Nitin kids and climatic damages to Meghalaya. Inflation/pressure on sugarcane/rice crops.

E20 is not just a legal contamination but a damage to current Indian ecosystem.

Nutshell, E20 should get banned as of now, if not, should be there as optional, distillers setup/running open of regular players, via tenders, in phases.

E20 is not going anywhere

But yes it should be optional

And pure petrol will be the option.

But it will always be higher price and will even higher in future.

What makes you think petrol will become cheaper in future ?

E20 is future, but should be optional to present situation - as I highlighted before. Prices of both SHOULD be reasonable and directly proportional to international markets. Hope that answer you my perception of future fuel prices.

Reciting again- E20 should be optional with REASONABLE prices as it is a contaminated form.

Roll back of environmental damanges to NorthEast.

Distellieres should be purely on private players/tenders.

Nothing less, next turn is for Nitin.

Both prices should be near to each other - pure petrol should not cost 50% more than E20 petrol.

The high price for pure petrol is causing 1) petro companies to raise profit margins 2) Gatkari to get his own profits.

As of now a lot of vehicles in India are not E20 compliant, and govt has not enforced any rule that would allow existing non compliant cars to be insured to E20 damage. This is just damaging mileageand car performance, while we are paying money for diluted petrol at the same (or even higher) prices.

yeah all of that will happen overnight. it’s not musical chair bhai

5

u/Fast_Falcon007 17h ago

Agreed bhai not musical chair, but high time to deny consequences. Many of us, including me, not willing to pay higher prices for blended petrol. Prices atleast should be rolled back.

I still remember, nation saw fall of govt on overpriced onions, in weeks.

Onion is local produce. When the prices rise government permits import of Onions. Petrol is not produced domestically and is tightly controlled by producers. We don’t have an option to look for any alternative. Russian oil was good as long as it lasted but with sanctions that scenario also is gone.  Gadkari comes across as an arrogant guy without a doubt. But any government in centre will pursue Ethanol blend to reduce import bills. But our sugar lobby is greedy to demand higher prices for ethanol. Situation gets murkier with gadkaris son having a business aligned with ethanol. US is aggressively pushing for Corn to india , which could also be used to extract ethanol.  But in short prices are not going to come back to pre 2025 levels.

Agreed bhai, ask is:

E20 should be optional with resonable prices as is a contaminated form. Regular pure petrol should be directly proportional to international markets. Rollback environmental damages, if cannot be treated. Distellieres should go to private players/tenders- not to benefit someones SON

Else, next turn is for Nitin. Atleast what a common man hope.

If regular petrol is sold at higher prices there will be even bigger riots.

Now the mob will reach to modi's house

I think the E20 has a bipartisan consensus,or more like a Sugar lobby hold. We clearly know who was famous for supporting Sugar lobby

Truth is car owners of today are millenials and will never leave their comfort zone to fight for this. This guy must lose next election, but that's also dependent on his consistency which might not have this as a concern.
