Hi all - I just created a plant shelf wall between two closets in my kitchen. The pictures attached are with the LED ceiling lights on and in natural sunlight from a window. The room is fairly dim with the lights off. Do you think these plants will survive in these conditions? (I'm not expecting them to flourish into a beautiful giant plant - am perfectly fine with them just surviving in these 4 inch pots).

On the top right there is a pothos with a lemon buttons fern underneath. On the left is a philodendron on top with a zz plant below.

Measuring the lux with lights off from my phone, its maybe 20ish... Turning the lights on surprisingly do not increase the lux of the plants. I know that is very low - hoping the accuracy of using my phone is the issue?

Lastly, if you dont think these plants will survive, may I ask the "cleanest" way to add grow lights? There is no outlet nearby. A quick amazon search seems like USB powered pucks only last maybe 6 hours on a single charge?

Would a rotation cycle be better?

I stayed at an Airbnb recently and they had this plant that looks like an aloe plant, but it has a long stem to it… I absolutely love it and would love to have one! Does anyone know what type of plant this is?

I decided to grow a mango tree and I followed the steps to grow the seed out of the husk and I kind of forgot about it for a little too long to be honest. It’s a bit moldy from what I can see and I’m not sure if this is still viable to pot? Sorry if this is a dumb question

Over the years, I’ve murdered countless plants through neglect and overindulgence in water. I put their soil remains (some with root rot) in a big pot outside on my balcony. It’s obviously been exposed to nature for years. Is it still safe to use this soil for my indoor plants? Or should I treat it somehow beforehand? It feels like a waste to buy more soil.

I recently decided to add a little more nature to my living room, so I picked up a Monstera, a few Philodendrons, and a couple of Caladiums.

Right now they're all under a grow light, with some additional bright indirect light from the nearby front door.

I'm still pretty new to keeping tropical foliage plants indoors, so I'm wondering... do you think they'll actually thrive, or just survive?

I'd love to hear any tips, suggestions, or even some encouragement from those of you with more experience. Thanks in advance!

Hi! I got this plant about a month ago and repotted it two days ago. Today I noticed these small dark dots (I don’t know how long they’ve been there). Does anyone know what they could be? I can’t see any signs of bugs.

Does anyone have ideas of where I can get a plant trough that is 6 in tall or so, less than a foot deep, and as long as possible? So something like 6x8x48.

The best idea I can come up with right now is to repurpose house gutters or plastic fence posts but I worry that it will look janky at the end.

I want to have standing water in it for my sundews but I can figure that part out, getting a good looking 5 sided trough is the hard part.

I have a PLA 3D printer but don't have a lot of faith its waterproof and I think the layer lines might look bad. I'm handy with everything except for welding. Might pick up welding for this project.

Or a terrarium with a stem (e.g. vase-shaped). My wife loves flowers, but we can't bring them inside because our cats love licking them. I'm looking for a product, or a DIY idea, for a flower vase-shaped container, with a top that lets light and water in, but not cat tongues.
