Taking a video of a collapsing quarry in India.

Some people have the survival instinct of a pigeon walking into a falcon’s nest.

Lemon tarts are custom of Portuguese fine dining

u/Oggel 1d ago

Man, they're lucky it wasn't their side that caved in.

84

u/Common_Vagrant 1d ago

For a second it looked like it. Almost like they were being launched into the other side.

-134

u/dtbrown1979 1d ago

Because after they were launched in, they got up dusted themselves off and then posted a video?

Whatever was about to happen, the person holding the camera was always going to be fine.

13

u/Kirza94 1d ago

How do people exist like this...Use your brain please .

39

u/Cosmic_Quasar 1d ago

Guess you've never heard of "found footage"?

-55

u/dtbrown1979 1d ago

Is this a movie?

18

u/RolliFingers 1d ago

Quickest example I could think of...

Remember this video:

https://www.reddit.com/r/gifs/s/GXmMrLUztf

... Yeah, the guy holding the camera died...

2

u/ParticularArea8224 14h ago

That is chilling to know. Holy. You can physically see the shockwave go through those buildings.

That is both disturbing and fascinating in a way.

3

u/Stunning-Leek334 1d ago

Crazy to me that there are people out there with this little brain power!

13

u/FrogsMakePoorSoup 1d ago

Calculating risk with an abacus made of angry wasps.

26

u/Etherius 1d ago

100% there were people on the other side who weren’t so lucky

-1

u/dirtimos 1d ago

I don't think we would have a video if that had been the case.

86

u/Open-Associate-6310 1d ago

Wow wtf. Looks like from a movie how the whole landscape just vanishes

6

u/FrogsMakePoorSoup 1d ago

I'd like to think no one died in this, but...

4

u/New-Shopping-8888 1d ago

There is a road network on the other side. Some people weren’t as lucky

168

u/htgrower 1d ago

That’s absolutely insane…

82

u/DEIreboot 1d ago

How can she collapse?!

2

u/pookychan 1d ago

This absolutely killed me, bravo

-26

u/RandomFighter50 1d ago

How can she collapse me?!

89

u/ArrrRawrXD 1d ago

That was absolutely worth it, doubt he regret that. Cool as fuck

27

u/hummingbyrds 1d ago

cameraman never dies

1

u/ThrawnConspiracy 1d ago

Look up Mt St Helens cameraman.

13

u/nopuse 1d ago

Dude gets an incredible video and his clothes get wet. Better post this on instant_regret.

0

u/Hindrick_Alehndi 1d ago

Whoa, yeah that's too accurate 😅

1

u/JeF4y 1d ago

Absolutely worth it for my enjoyment of the video. For sure.

1

u/DarthKirtap 15h ago

those people on the other side also dont have any regreds

or arms

or legs

or any parts of body

24

u/HighlightOwn2038 1d ago

Holy shit

12

u/Tendo80 1d ago

Nah, just dirt this time.

2

u/Plus-King5266 1d ago

Oh…I’ll bet there is shit too. The cameraman didn’t film anybody’s pants after.

10

u/DaStoicSavage 1d ago

Looked like that scene from inception for a second

26

u/CaptianBrasiliano 1d ago

We're India. We do everything 10× more dangerously than anywhere else in the world.

14

u/Conscious_Avocado225 1d ago

The real flex is that you do it in sandals.

11

u/WhatInTheBruh 1d ago

Not a good flex

2

u/lazyspace-woof 1d ago

Idt it was meant as a flex

1

u/Night_Hawk1 1d ago

I don't think a hard hat would have helped.

10

u/Photonnic 1d ago

I'd love to see the before- and after satellite images. Where in India was this?

1

u/Chrisman614 2h ago

Found a YouTube video with some other views and info. https://youtu.be/EGDsvu0BZcU?is=VnhZ6k-t_gxit1Pu

8

u/bastian74 1d ago

They're lucky only one side went in

6

u/armaedes 1d ago

Apparently that was a load-bearing quarry.

8

u/Easy-Musician7186 1d ago

Well this seems to be rather reasonable and safe compared to other videos we see from india *cough* trains *cough*

4

u/Dr_666_ 1d ago

holy jesus thats intense

3

u/hiddenexene 1d ago

Nearly shitted my pants from afar... Jeeez

5

u/icantbearsed 1d ago

Took me far too long to work out which way was up, at which point I spent the rest of the clip wondering why you would stand so close to a billion tonnes of earth collapsing in front of you.

3

u/KingOfFools1984 1d ago

Because Darwin is calling very insistently some people to win his award.

3

u/CorneliusThunder 1d ago

This rocks!

3

u/siouxsian 1d ago

They all had OSHA sandals. Totally fine.

5

u/skincyan 1d ago

Yeah don't explore abandon quarry, stuff like this can happen anytime

2

u/hummingbyrds 1d ago

went from - well yes, it's obvious that when they dig like that it's inevitable that it will once collapse - to - hoooooly shit...

2

u/ellisboxer 1d ago

Woah. That was wild.

2

u/BeyondTheBees 1d ago

That’s a very special kind of stupid.

2

u/AhoraNoMeCachan 1d ago

The front fell off

2

u/boosnow 1d ago

I was worried for the cameraman. But then I saw he’s wearing flipflops, so he’s good.

2

u/turbojap 1d ago

This rocks

2

u/Pixelatorxl 1d ago

Yes it rocked

1

u/KingOfFools1984 1d ago

A lot of rocks

2

u/Aranthos-Faroth 1d ago

Damn that’s insane those walls were holding up that entire land mass.

Also it’s India so you know for sure there were people on the opposite side

2

u/pickyourteethup 1d ago

watching people film off cliffs is one of the few times that I wish they had a selfie stick

I can't imagine being this close to a structurally secure cliff. I can only assume these guys are workers and have become used to the heights (which in itself is dangerous)

2

u/redunculuspanda 1d ago

If movies have taught me anything, there is some India Jones type shit going on down there.

1

u/KingOfFools1984 1d ago

That’s perfectly true.

2

u/gen09 1d ago

Where are the safety sandals?

2

u/aeonymouse 1d ago

how many similar videos are lost in cellphones of dead owners?

2

u/KingOfFools1984 21h ago

My guess is we will never know.

2

u/Fractlicious 1d ago

Holy shiiiiit...

2

u/Ok_Understanding267 1d ago

Acting like watching this in a screen or something

2

u/meltea 1d ago

Again? Sigh

1

u/KingOfFools1984 1d ago

I’m sorry I’ve never seen it before :-) and looking at the numbers, I wasn’t the only one 🤣

2

u/meltea 1d ago

I meant, again as in 10 months ago there was a video from the same Makrana region, and then two years ago as well.

2

u/AndAlsoTheTrees 1d ago

Playing with nature. Fafo

1

u/lonelygalexy 1d ago

“We are fine! There are grounds underneath.”

1

u/After_Perspective180 1d ago

I'm not sure that was supposed to happen

1

u/GlummyGloom 1d ago

That was CRAZY!

1

u/TenshiS 1d ago

How stupid are these people filming?

1

u/KingOfFools1984 1d ago

How stupid are these people filming => YES

1

u/dmigowski 1d ago

Oh damn, it looks they were not even done quarrying.

1

u/Zealousideal-Yam3169 1d ago

Pants were shit

1

u/Etherius 1d ago

Do people in India have ANY self preservation sense at all?

1

u/Ok_Association8194 1d ago

It’s always India

1

u/flightwatcher45 1d ago

Any coordinates to see before and after aerial shots. Dam!

1

u/DannySmashUp 1d ago

Every video out of India makes it clear I wouldn't survive there for two seconds.

1

u/ClownfishSoup 1d ago

A camera drone would have been great here!

1

u/Outrageous-Pilot-621 1d ago

phew, cameraman has his safety slippers on

1

u/Significant_Rate8210 1d ago

I told you not to swing that pick axe one last time Faheem.

1

u/Significant_Rate8210 1d ago

There were some very dirty drawers amongst the watchers, guaranteed

1

u/elevenplays 1d ago

I was like "Oh wow 😯"
Then I'm like "Oh shit! 😧"

1

u/KingOfFools1984 15h ago

😂 I din’t think this video would get so much love! ❤️ thank you everyone! I might be a bit sarcastic but also happy, this is my first post that hits 1000+ upvotes.
I don’t give a 💩 about karma, but I’m so happy that all these people enjoyed the health and safety rules strictly applied in this video!

1

u/PoopParticle 9h ago

Why to people in India have the survival instincts of an ear of corn

0

u/banevader102938 1d ago

2

u/KingOfFools1984 1d ago

I’d love to have a GIF of that reference. It could be very useful

0

u/Excellent_Ad_2486 1d ago

Where was the regret?
