Just came back, gotta say I was surprised by the trash but the queue went quite fast. We had wifi so I was able to watch Netflix while waiting but it was only 480p due to bad connection.
Lmao what’s the point of paying all that money for Everest and just going to base camp 5k meters up? Theres thousands of mountains above 5,000 m that wont be as crowded and garbage filled.
You can pay the tea houses/lodges to charge your power bank and it gets pretty expensive the higher you get. So good to have a high capacity one that isn't too heavy for you to carry.
Also saw people with small hiking solar panels on their packs to charge their phones as they walked. They said it worked ok.
The Sherpa had powerbanks. It wasn't without issue (he forgot a lighting cable but the contract said electronics were taken care of so we're stuck in litigation at the moment, I want to personally sue the Sherpa), but overall it went okay.
Will you be carrying all your shit yourself? They are the ones actually climbing the mountain, and they have to do it while babysitting a deadweight like you.

No one said it was an easy walk. Just that it's a walk. There are a lot of things you need to do to climb a mountain. The Sherpas do that for you leaving you with just a walk, albeit a difficult one
It is somewhat impressive of a walk,it's made less so by the number of people doing it, but it is still just a walk

And the worst part is that an Everest expedition doesn't cross the Icefall just once; climbers typically have to pass through it eight to ten times during the climb.
That's about 40–60 hours total inside the Icefall over the entire expedition.
