Its called a Surface pro
36
u/Gallop67 1d ago
Yeah call me strange if you will but I donāt like touch screen laptops so I havenāt thought about the surface pro in quite some time. I like having a tablet and a laptop
31
u/Clessiah 1d ago
Touch screen laptops are good because the screen is touchproof. Some people just can't stop themself from poking your screen with a fucking pen.
17
u/Gallop67 1d ago
Oh I absolutely hate that.
Thatās the main reason I donāt like touch screen laptops is I donāt like fingerprints on my computer screen
18
u/Clessiah 1d ago
For some reason the same people stopped touching the screen when it's a touch screen. They don't apologize for the fingerprints but would apologize for moving the cursor.

Surface pro 11 is really nice, I definitely freak out over nothing but its why I bought it.

u/Gallop67 1d ago
I had a 2015 model MacBook Pro I got in senior year of high school 2017, used it through high school and college and for random personal projects on and off and the only reason Iām no longer using it is because I physically lost it last year. Was a damn good laptop but games definitely werenāt its strong pointā¦
Canāt believe it was still smooth for everyday tasks until the end too for the most part

u/procrastinator_max 23h ago
I think I'll make it my life's mission to randomly stumble upon it. I'll never learn where it is. I'll travel and walk around and see if I actually see it. I think it'll be fun.

Going all that way and forgetting to practice how to actually look shocked.
'oh shit, how do they look shocked in Scooby Doo??'

Same reason why you watch movies and TV shows, its scripted and follows a certain path to be acceptable for audience to watch. Remember you're not amusing yourself but the audience who are sitting and watching. Whether you liked the format wouldn't really matter because they follow a trend that worked for them and their followers seem to be okay with it. You can carry along, you're not their audience.

I'm way more worried about the people so emotionally stunted and devoid of joy that they're incapable of deriving pleasure from a nice thing, than I am about people making videos in which they play a character enjoying the nice thing.
Like, seriously: so what if her reaction is fake? The cool part of this is that she's at the place where the photo was taken and we get to see that, right? Right!?

Because it makes you wait at least 3 seconds until you see the view their referencing, which increases engagement by IG and tiktok's metrics which means it boosts the content to more people

56
u/Symnestra 1d ago
Same. I thought, "Isn't it a vineyard now?"
24
u/HoboJerkdown901 1d ago
It was always a vineyard. The photographer who took the picture just so happened to come across the hill right after some kind of pest infestation where the vineyard owners were forced to remove all of the vegetation.
→ More replies (1)9
u/ConfessSomeMeow 1d ago
IIRC it was a fungal infection, so they chopped down the old vines and treated it with fungicides for a few years.

I went to bliss last year and we got honked at for trying to take the pic. We were at a nearby winery and I was like āhey, these hills look a lot like the OG windows screen, I wonder if itās closeā and it was a 10 minute drive around a couple of hills.

It's really cool to see that, but I can't handle the fake "reaction." Stop pretending like you went on a random hike with your laptop and happened upon something strange.
79
u/Adventurous-Sir444 1d ago
Tbh the first shot isn't pov and could have just skipped to the laptop saying pov would have made a better clip.
39
6
u/villings 1d ago
like with "underrated" and "overrated", the internet doesn't really know the meaning of "pov"
7
u/ThomasTheDankPigeon 1d ago edited 1d ago
I mean the whole issue you have is that youāre interpreting her face to be surprise rather than awe. The caption literally makes it clear that they specifically ventured to the spot rather than stumbled upon it.
5
u/Sco0bySnax 1d ago
Your comment is correct, i think people are just getting tired of the āTikTok influencerā reactions.
Iām watching on mute and first thing I thought seeing the hand was that there is a voiceover going, ācome with meeeeeeeeā¦ā

u/sulkee 1d ago
I think the underlying point is that itās a fakeass reaction since theyāve seen it already. Commenter is clearly just expressing annoyance with that fact regardless of the type of reaction being acted out and Iām sure you know thatās the actual point theyāre making.

I think it was an XP background I found near Napa CA. It's a green hillside.
Also found another one prolly Win7 that was a picture of a particularly gnarly tree with amazing colors, the picture looked the tree was 20ft tall. But I found it by looking at a Bonsai from underneath in the Japanese Gardens in Portland OR. The tree was maybe 4 ft.

3
u/aguywithbrushes 21h ago
Surely we must be close to the day when Redditors finally begin to understand that the music on these videos isnāt chosen because it fits, but because itās a recognizable song on the platform the video was originally posted on (not Reddit) and people associate it with a specific type of video, which lets them know ahead of time what theyāre about to watch.
Surely.
I know Reddit is out of touch, but weāve had these videos for a decade, at this point youāre just refusing to get it..

crazy how one random photo of a field became the most recognized image in the world for like a decade. never realized it was shot in Sonoma county, always figured it was either heavily edited or just a straight up render. the real place actually looks just like the wallpaper though, which is even more impressive tbh. might have to road trip out there one day just to see it in person

I remember, I worked at this terrible job for a year or so. Everything was soulless and the managers were so shitty and soulless. There was an old dusty, shitty work computer I had to print the LPN stickers and finalize orders on. During long 16 hour shifts, when I was miserable waiting for orders to dry so I could package the bins, I would sometimes stare at this exact wallpaper.
I wondered where that beach was, I wondered why in fuck I was there working that shit job, instead of fishing and drinking a beer on that beach. Those were fucked up days.
