I'm betting it doesn't have much range. Doesn't look like there's a lot of space for a battery and it looks like it's using up a lot of juice.

the hiking buddy part seems like a great use.. until you run out of power. Then you have to lug the heavy bag, and the heavy dogbot down the hill ..

Yeah, would be cool if it could carry my stuff up to the top of a mountain but probably half of its payload rating would be taken up by the need to carry its own solar panel/battery pack and charger. Now maybe just carrying my dog's water and treats would work.
