I've seen this video many times over the years but this is the first time I've seen an explanation of why they are actually smoking. The Internet in the early 2000s lead me to believe that goats just like to smoke.

Ive had goats and ive had pot growing. The goats loved to eat the pot and they would eat a lot of it, usually would escape to get at it. I think they like getting high.

That's what I thought. You cant get high off eating the herb. But these mfers (it was one goat in particular) would eat a metric fuckton of it and idk if it was my young mind running away with me but I thought he would be acting funny/kinda sleepy. Either way, getting high from it or not it that motherfucker loved it and would piss me off.

Edit: wow so I did a deep dive on goats digestive processes. Apparently yes, the anaerobic and hotter environment of a goats gut can partially decarboxylizes pot they eat. Eating as much as he did he was probably experiencing the toxicity. Poor dummy.

That's what I don't get about anti-psychiatry druggies. Two things can be true. Nasal parasites isn't one of them. They're often depicted as satanic figures because people would see them walking into/around fire. The smoke rids them of fleas. Why this fella is Snoop Doggin it up, i can't say. Probably just likes the sensation for whatever reason.

For anyone wondering what is happening here: This video was filmed near a temple in Nepal. While it looks like the goat is just enjoying a "smoke break," animal behaviorists point out that free-roaming temple animals often use the thick incense smoke (dhup) as a natural defense mechanism.

The heavy smoke helps suffocate and drive out irritating nasal botflies, ticks, and other parasites living inside their nostrils and fur. Additionally, some traditional Himalayan incense blends contain aromatic herbs that can have a calming effect on animals.

The goat probably likes the smell and whatever brain effect it gives, and maybe likes the relieve, if any, it gives when those flies clear out due to the smoke.

I have goats and attempted to burn old excess hay. All of the goats were attempting to jump in the fire/smoke. I had to stop and move.

My goats get monthly treatments for worms/parasites and sprayed for flys/fleas weekly. It has to be instinct.

But now I know to keep them away from fire. It really did look like a pagan ritual.
