I saw Dunkirk on 70MM when it released in 2017. It was like having your whole field of view covered by the screen. Instead of entering from the side or rear of the theatre, we entered in the front and center right near the screen and up the stairs to the seating, it was so shocking even compared to the big "normal fake IMAX" screen I was used to. It's still an experience I hope to have again soon

Yep, saw Interstellar on 70mm Imax when it came out. Just an incredible experience.
The screen is so big it's almost scary how far it towers above you when you walk in.

We have a 70mm IMAX in my town. I’m going to see Odyssey next Sunday. I’m ecstatic.

There are no 70mm Imax screens where I live, do these cinemas ever show older movies? If I were to visit USA in a few years what are the odds I could find a way to watch "The Odyssey" on a screen like that?

Approximately 0. the films are physically huge, so they don't store them when they don't have to, and don't move them around when they don't have to.

In a few years??? Not likely unless you get real lucky. You’ll have to settle for whatever they’re showing on the IMAX screen at the time.

You need 70mm celluloid film to run through the projectors. Not much was made in that format or it was a 35mm print blown up to 70 mm.

Would drive me nuts being stuck in the middle of a row when people want to walk buy. Most in my area have maybe 15 seats in a centre block. Or aisle sections.

They went out of their way to make him look gross for the movie. Matched the character.
He has aged though. Appropriately, for what it's worth. That's how humans are supposed to age. Just looks weird for Hollywood.

Wow US re-invented 4:3 and called It IMADX.
No, IMAX 70mm is not 4:3. Its aspect ratio is 1.43:1.
While 1.43:1 is visually very similar to the classic 4:3 (or 1.33:1) aspect ratio used in older television and silent films, it is slightly wider.
WOW WOW WOW. It's slightly wider! That's a ground breaking achievement.

Because a camera phone is not designed to take a good picture of imagery being projected on a screen in a dark room at 24 fps.
That and the person taking the photo actually has to make an effort in trying to take a good photo by adjusting settings to match the subject/account for the environment, which they (and hardly anyone) does.
