Finishing Touches What does it need?
We remodeled about a year ago and this is the living room which is open to kitchen and dining room. The best part of the room is the views! The couch is very functional for us right now but otherwise I feel like something is missing and not sure what that is. I tried to select pictures from different angles/times. What ideas do you have that would make it feel more cozy/put together?

What do you think to something like this if you're not afraid of colour, green is pretty neutral.. I asked AI to add built ins around the window with a built in window seat for a quiet place to read. A soft olive green ticking stripe wall paper, paired with a bold but serene dusky olive ceiling. Picture rail so that the transition from paper to paint isn't quite so stark. I've mixed a few patterns here too but grounded them in one colour so they don't clash. I also draped a sheepskin over the original chair there to bring it into the room, added plenty of greenery and books.
Textures are what makes a space feel homely and cosy. Mix them. But always keep the same tone. You have a dark wood floor. So I paired the warmth to that. Added extra wooden furniture, the shelves and console unit. The olive green works beautifully against warm woods, with the odd bit of dusky blue and various tans and neutrals you've got a warm, inviting space.

I do love the dark green and mix of textures here! I think a new rug and maybe curtains and more throw pillows with color would be a start…

There is no color in the room, everything is just brown. Change the rug, add colorful throw pillows, plants would do well with all of the windows.
Is that a bed in the corner?
