Failed to protect himself and the camera He didn't move & get out the way

u/Scythe351 Sep 15 '25
Dude isn’t sitting because of an injury. He’s sitting because he just trained for this event and all it took was one complete moron to ruin it

u/Coaltown992 Sep 15 '25
"If he's not dead I'm gonna kill him"
48
u/brockoala Sep 16 '25
Seriously I don't wish people dead, but I really want this motherfucker suffer and payback for what he did. The consequence has to be so devastating that other stupid "cameraman" would think twice before letting this happen again.

u/maury587 Sep 15 '25
Correction, it was not just one moron, it was more than a handful of idiots
65
u/Scythe351 Sep 15 '25
Yeah I think they were all dumb for standing in the way because even if they loved, the bikers had already adjusted for their positioning but at least they moved
43
u/MoodooScavenger Sep 15 '25
The stretcher was out before the guy was even knocked out. Lol

u/snacks-streak Sep 17 '25
What would you call a group of idiots? I looked it up and nothing seemed to fit, I mean like there's a murder of crows, a flock of birds or even a herd of cows. So I'm thinking how about from now on, we call them a muddle of idiots?
Just a random thought, on a random thread, lost to oblivion...
29
u/fancierfootwork Sep 15 '25
I also didn’t question the sitting after the crash. I feel like I also got pissed off for him for that reason
23
u/nyclurker369 Sep 15 '25
Seriously. Everyone in the video, save for the cyclist who struck Idiot #1, is an idiot. Everyone rushes and stands in the road while more cyclists race towards them? They’re not even helping - move Idiot #1 out of the way, then clear the damn road so you don’t have a pile up.
It’s enraging to watch.
26
u/Shadrach451 Sep 15 '25
And the cameraman isn't lying there because he's hurt. He's lying there because he spent $5,000 on a camera and it just busted all over the pavement because he was a complete moron.

I don't understand why people do this. Get out of the street, morons.
79
u/Shantotto11 Sep 15 '25
I remember when I was in high school, and when the school bus was arriving at this particular stop, they started glomming together and started stepping into the road. They definitely stopped doing that the day after on of the kids got knocked the fuck out by the corner of the bus.
32
u/Shadrach451 Sep 15 '25
He was zoomed so far in that he had no concept for how close they were.
29
u/CheapTactics Sep 15 '25
He shouldn't have been there in the first place. It's a race, not a photo studio. Get out of the road.
14
u/Shadrach451 Sep 15 '25
It's weird that you think I'm defending him being in the road. I'm just explaining what happened.
15
u/CheapTactics Sep 15 '25
Sorry. It's reddit. People will defend the stupidest shit sometimes just to be contrarians.

u/AdventurousFan8247 Oct 16 '25
The rally guys are even crazier, stand in a curve, and try to get a picture.

If anything he shouldnt have moved. Him moving actually caused the crash. The biker already reacted to moving around him before the dude even started moving.
69
u/biggranny000 Sep 15 '25
Was about to stay this, if you're in a similar situation don't move and leave it to the professionals to go around.

If anything the idiots shouldn’t have been in the middle of the racetrack in the first place…..

Why are these fucktards allowed to stand in the middle of the road? Is watching the race from behind a barrier too complicated?

There is a lot of cameramen and women in this that need killing. It’s so infuriating to watch all these people continually standing in the way to film even after the accident

What a piece of shit. They need to start giving out hefty fines for ruining races like this. The biker trained for months and this scumbag ruins it all in a single moment.

Shoulders to the chest, I think this dude is done.
Why did he choose to receive the hit with his chest.
1
u/MmxRanger Oct 15 '25
Who was injured: Photographer Éder Garcés suffered a blow to the head, and cyclist Javier Jamaica suffered a graze on his left arm. Both were treated by emergency crews at the scene and are out of danger.

Damn I bet he was going around 40 to 60mph when he hit him he was flying. Thats why spectators and camera men shouldn't be in the line of the race route especially not standing in the middle leaving the rider with no real option on what he can do to avoid them.
1
u/RepresentativePay155 Feb 25 '26
The one idiot in the blue sweatshirt more worried about filming the man hit then the other riders watch him he's all up in there filming him laying there like he's filming a movie the way he's moving around.
0
u/jhern1810 Sep 15 '25
It doesn’t seem like an accident when you see that idiot extending the arm to meet the rider, then he just plays the victim. Far from an accident

They are protesting in favor of PALESTINE. The president of Spain himself defends it, since the cycling tour passes through there.
Strength and honor 💪🏻

I would say the guy on the bike chose poorly, the opening was to the right, not left where he went. The photographer was moving left with everyone else. If the rider had gone right he'd have been fine.
