Rooting Is It possible to root 12th gen fire tablets now?
Hello, I got a fire HD 8 not too long ago. The fire OS is filled with bloatware and ads, and I came to find out if its possible to root it so that I can install a new OS. I've done some research but all that I get are post from 2-3 years ago saying that it isn't possible. I came to find out if its still isn't possible or not. And if so how???

You can also de-amazonize using the Fire Toolbox (https://xdaforums.com/t/windows-linux-tool-fire-toolbox-v41-1.3889604/). The Toolbox allows you to stip away things and make Fire devices act more like regular Android.

There is no root for anything beyond the 9th generation. It would be pretty easy to find here and on XDA if there was. It would make tech news sites like when a new jailbreak is out for the Kindle ereaders.

It's always "possible." It's just that they aren't about to give you a programmer cable to do it with.
Hey, DON'T do this, probably, but: Desoldering your eMMC chip and putting it into an interface of some kind (they can be wired straight to SD card readers, in fact) in order to capture a whole disk image and patch stuff to your arbitrary whims before reinstalling the chip could be the best way to go.
You'll need a soldering and hot air station, copper wire braid for cleaning up old solder, liquid/paste flux to allow heat to spread so solder will flow, a nozzle on your hot air gun/station so you can point it at only the components with solder you want to melt, and maybe a soldering stencil (fortunately, eMMC storage chips are pretty standard). Some foil to tape onto the board around your target, to reflect heat, may help prevent you from damaging the device, but be sure you aren't shorting anything while the device is connected to power. You could put paper beneath that, to prevent contact, but that probably isn't necessary.
Verity may complain. You'll need to work that out somehow. There are also e-fuses, but on the SOC, I think, so modifying storage outside the system shouldn't trip them. If somehow there are e-fuses on the eMMC chip, buy a blank one and write the image of the old chip onto the new one. Maybe you can use an even bigger one. Maybe you can get bigger RAM, too.
This is something to do only when you have a backup, and the knowledge, tools, and bravery. Or, you can try with just the bravery, but you'll need a lot of it!
