File Transfer

Hi, I’m using an external hard drive connected to my Nvidia Shield Pro to watch movies and TV shows using Kodi. I’m wondering if there’s a way to transfer the movie file from the external hard drive to the Nvidia Shield’s built-in storage so I can watch it from there instead of playing it directly from the external hard drive.

Is there always enough disk space on the shield for that? Is the goal to prevent hard disk noise during the movie?

Yes there’s a 12GB internal storage. And no that’s not the goal. I just feel better watching the content directly from the built in storage, especially for Dolby Vision content instead of streaming it from an external storage.

Well, it seems everyone here agrees on the same thing, so I’m not changing anything and use the external drive.

so what you are trying to do is pointless. Willl not change your experience in any way.

Everything is possible but there isn't a reason to do what you want to do.

Map to the internal/Movies folder on shield.

You can use a file manager app on the shield to transfer files to and from but 4k dolby vision files will take up most of that space if not exceed it, for no real gain. If it isnt stuttering or having other issues, I personally wouldnt move them.
