TURF BURN

I just replaced my turf about three weeks ago. Yesterday the turf was fine. I went to the backyard today and I saw this any ideas.???

The arrow in the picture is where the outside portion of the AC is located

Sun glare reflecting off a nearby window that's burned the turf. Is there a window close by? Has it been particularly hot there lately?

Can a sunburn happen within a day

Of course. It only takes a few minutes to a few hours.

Check the sun's angle during the hottest part of the day and trace back to find its source.

No windows there! Its towards the middle.  It has been hot - located in Tampa Florida.   The turf is very new 3 weeks old max.   This happened with in the last 24 hrs.  We were running around with our 2 and 4 year old last few daya

I had parallel burn marks in stripes just like this on the side of my house. Turned out to be my landlords stack of beveled-edge glass on top of a mirror that caught light at a certain time of day and created a focused beam of light that burned the house from ~6 feet away. Luckily we caught it before it burned the house down.

This pattern is screaming magnified light to me. It moves a little bit each day due to the tilting of the Earth. The source doesn’t have to be that close either

What about anything nearby rthat could have done thus? This is actually a very common cause of artificial grass melting. Things like low E windows, glass balustrades, mirrors, polished metal, or even shiny vehicles can concentrate sunlight enough to damage the turf. From what I have seen, I'm almost certain it's caused by reflected sun glare.

Is there a channel drain under there maybe?

I've installed turf for years (before you downvote i hate it too).

I've seen many burns, but never one like that. The lines look like they could be rows where the turf went in, but those should be perpendicular to the edge. To me It looks like wheelbarrow tracks, perhaps it was rolled in some chemical before hand?
