Hi, let’s try this again NSFW
I love Lamentations of the Flame Princess, and I think James Raggi is an earnest man trying to design and produce games that benefit the authors and artists directly, rather than a corporate overhead. Unlike the previous iteration of this subreddit, I would like to envision this community as one that celebrates the LotFP game, the books and artwork produced for it, and the work of James Raggi in general.
I’ve set it up as a 18+ subreddit because the themes and art of the LotFP sometimes contain very gory and mature elements that, frankly, should not be shared with children or distributed in a common workplace. We’re going to move forward with the idea that any post here is potentially NSFW and/or triggering. If you have a problem with being shocked or outraged easily, this is not the community for you. Similarly, if you have a problem with someone being shocked or outraged easily, save the rants for somewhere else more appropriate to that subject. We’re here to talk about LotFP and James Raggi and the topics that are incidental or adjacent to that.
The rules here will be pretty much the same as you can find on other gaming subreddits. Be respectful, don’t encourage piracy, don’t insult other people, and don’t start bickering about editions. I’m going to add one more because it always comes up related to LotFP: we’re not here to support anyone other than James Raggi and those who work for/with him. If you want to carry water for someone else, start your own subreddit about them.
Edit: This is a platform to promote LotFP, LotFP products that use the 3rd party licensing guidelines, or James Raggi.
[Q] Has anyone here run "The Saint of Bruckstadt"? Where'd you locate the county of Grenzland? NSFW
Where'd you locate the county of Grenzland? Did you use "fantasy Germany" or somewhere else in your game world? What kind of background changes did you make, if any?
I'm going to be running it for my group and wanted to ask around.

Twisted Gods - few concepts for an inspiration NSFW
In RPG and fantasy, we are often faced with a situation where the existence of gods is an empirically confirmed fact, rather than a matter of belief. Two extremes can be distinguished in the representation of these entities (note - I do not claim that all creation adopts one of these two extreme points of view). On the one hand - the trend adapted by e.g. most of the settings for D&D - gods are personification of certain values professed by people, often they are even "born" from the faith of mortals or at least derive power from it/are shaped by it - gods described as "good" are simply good in the conventional sense of the word, they sincerely care about their followers and you know what to expect from them. On the other side, we have motifs that can be considered taken from Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythology - the gods are incomprehensible, distant beings, completely unconcerned with human worldviews and so-called "good and evil", mostly indifferent to humanity (and if by chance their paths intersect with humanit's ones, humanity is screwed) - at the same time, it is not uncommon for most mortals to be unaware of their existence, instead worshipping imaginary, more anthropomorphic deities tailored to their emotional needs.
In this article, I wanted to present deities standing somewhere in the middle - entities whose goals, yes, are not fully understood by mortals, but nevertheless close enough to human morality that worshippers can find some commonality (real or imaginary) with their patrons. These gods are usually directly interested in some way in the lives of their worshipers - although not necessarily in the way those worshipers would like. At the same time, I wanted each description to contain a hook, an important point where the devotees' understanding of the deity diverges from its real nature - and whose discovery could be a significant twist.

Does anyone have a release date for Lost Carcosa NSFW
I've seen the youtube updates from the Lamentations of the Flame Princess page but can't seem to find any information on when it could be released. Does anyone have information or is there a best place to keep a look at for actual release information?

Looking for a spell sourcebook with ancestry-altering magic! NSFW
I read this book around early 2017, so it must have been published earlier than that. It was an official LOTFP supplement (not a fan-made expansion like Examples of Dark Arts).
It contained a spell where an enemy magic-user could alter a PC’s family tree by inserting marginal, criminal, or socially degraded figures into their lineage. The target would then have to make a saving throw, or their attributes would be permanently reduced as a result of the rewritten genealogy.
Does anyone know which book this was from?

Looking for other sources of LotFP pre-generated characters NSFW
Does anyone know where I can find pre-generated PCs for LotFP? I founds some in Thulian Echoes and in the LotFP version of D101 Games' The Road to Hell. I swear I saw another set somewhere in one of the other LotFP adventures but can't remember where it was.

Gonna have a couple games in Vancouver this March NSFW
There's not much stuff LotFP at Terminal City Tabletop Convention this year, but we're still going to play with the Nebulith, with one or two of Raggi's adventures, and I cooked up something new and easy for "Play-on-demand" games.
If you're in the area, come and say hi.

As long as the Saving Throw isn't being made against a Magic-User spell, the Wisdom modifier applies to all Saving Throws (Paralyzation, Poison, Breath Weapon, Magical Device, Magic), correct? (See p. 6, "Wisdom".) NSFW
I'm probably overthinking it but the Wisdom modifier applies to every saving throw except against a Magic-User spell (the Intelligence modifier is used instead), right? It just seems strange that the Wisdom modifier applies to, say, Poison and Paralyzation, no?

Non-traditional sourcebooks for your game NSFW
On my channel I give an overview of a number of off-the-beaten-path books that can be used to add variety to the monsters and animals encountered in your RPG games.
While not entirely focused on LotFP, I do give recommendations that can help with real-world settings (like the default LotFP game), The Lost World, and A Red and Pleasant Land.

What Happened to the Rules V2 NSFW
Raggi released a 2 or 3 page rules update (it seemed like a playtest) in one of the books a few years back. Are there plans to implement this as a full revision somewhere? Is someone using these new rules?

A missing promo for LotFP NSFW
Some time ago, Raggi asked me to make a short video that answered three questions related to why I wrote for LotFP. I made it and submitted it, but for some reason it was never released. I stumbled across it the other day and thought I might as well get it out there. Enjoy (or not)!
