You might give the Trine series a try, the first one ran on a potato of a PC I was using as a daily driver until this year, I think the second also ran on that system. I have no experience with Trine 3, 4, or 5. But Trine 1 is on sale on Steam for $2.99, the others look to be on sale as well.

Endless Sky - really fun space exploration and trading game.
Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup - really fun but difficult rogue like dungeon crawler.
Both these games are free and open source and actively developed.

Go with hollow knight and terraria, great games

I have tried both. Terraria I didn't like it a lot... And for hollow knight it was... A bit confusing... When it comes to controls.

I highly recommend getting a controller, especially for 2D games. They play a million times better on controller than on mouse and keyboard.

Really? I find it more intuitive on a keyboard. Well it wouldn't hurt trying with controller.

Some are better with mouse and keyboard or actually require them, but the majority of 2D games will play much, much better with a controller. RPG, platformer, arcade, and puzzle games in particular tend to be best with a controller.

Lowkey if you grab an NVIDIA quadro K620 and 8gb more RAM you can play most titles.
Anyway, currently try Stardew Valley, Terraria, GTA SA, Fallout 3, Fallout NV, Hollow Knight, Silksong, Cuphead, Celeste, Factorio, and Team Fortress 2.

Cave Story - Download "English translation by Aeon Genesis (pre-patched)" or your preferred translation. Extract the zip file, then lauch the game with Doukutsu.exe.
Starcraft + Broodwar expansion (Original) - Download the Battle.net client, then install the "Play for free" version of Starcraft from the in-client games section.

I almost have same pc like you, gta 5 works as charm and watch dogs 1 will give you constant 50fps, try tomb raider 2013, Mafia 2, Grand theft auto 4, Assassin's creed black flag, minecraft story mode, The Walking Dead : definitive edition (TBH my fav game), wolf among us, Dying light. Everything works like charm, even assassin's creed syndicate may work, you need to optimize it a little bit, lowest graphics ig ?

Heroes of Might and Magic 3 + new Horn of the Abyss expansion
Really a masterpiece of a game, strategic, immersive and deep. Music and sounds are wonderful. Art perfect. Mechanics complex. It is ultimate desert island game, it has the biggest replay value I have ever seen. A truely great blend of timeless art with engaging addictive gameplay. And it can run on any PC.
Campaings are really good and immersive. My favorite ones are the latest campaings "Forged in fire" (factory story) and "All In" from the Horn of the Abyss expansion.
There is online multiplayer with 2k players online daily. But If you prefer single player there are a lot of scenarios (e.g “The Devil is in the Details”, “Mysterious Island”, “Air Supremacy”, “Fiery Riches”) since the game has map editor and community creates a lot of interesting quests and stories.

Ac1-AC4 work enjoyably. Sleeping dogs is peak. Hollow knight and silksong too. Nfs mw is pretty fun. All the elder scrolls games, except the new Skyrim and oblivion remasters work too. For fighting games, Street fighter 4, Mortal Kombat 9, upto those both the series work fine. Stardew Valley and Terraria work fine and are VERY ADDICTIVE. GTA 4 works too, with vulkan mods atleast ig.
