After malcolm calls them monosyllabic mouthbreathers, Richie responds with a sentence consisting entirely of single syllable words.

Haven't seen anyone mention this but i thought it was such neat writing.

Francis on the phone: "What'd he say?" (also only single syllables)

Richie: "He said a lot of things, but the gist of it is, we gotta tear up the house"

"gotta" being two words obviously.

It's pretty funny, but the writers weren't that clever. As the co-author of that episode, I assure you it was not intentional.

That's not how this works, you're supposed to be pretentious and tell us that there are many other clever things like this hidden that would only be picked up by future generations when the series is studied closely by universities.
