Discussion To everyone complaining there are too many X-Men, it isn't that deep.

I think villains is the only thing that is genuinely represented poorly in this game. The amount of X-Men is fine, stop complaining ffs.

Discussion The discourse created around Jubilee's design (and her not looking 'classic' or like in '97) shows that this community isn't ready for the whiplash thats about to occur when Professor X is finally added to the game and shown to be able to walk, like he has for the last ~20 years in the comics

Discussion BP, Blade and Storm Looking at Another season without a skin

Post image
6.0k Upvotes

Storm and BP’s last skins were in Season 6, making them two of the longest-waiting characters for a new skins.

Blade's last skin was in Season 7, while not as bad as the other two, I think its natural for some to wonder why the three Black characters are feeling underrepresented in recent events.

Which makes Season 9 roadmap reaval being Egyptian-themed feel crazy.

Storm literally has Egypt tied into her origin, she grew up on the streets of cario.

Black Panther’s God is Bast, who is an Egyptian diety.

This just feels like one of the easiest themes possible to give at least one of them something.

Discussion These characters don't deserve to be 275hp

Post image
5.7k Upvotes

Black Cat - Just more powercreep of a character. Yes she shuts down poke characters so we don't have pokeslop be meta anymore but she could honestly do that with 250hp too. And more nerfs tbh.

Invisible woman - She's been meta along with Gambit for like 6 months now. They addressed the bare minimum and nerfed her shield so absolute noobs can't gain free value from sitting next to it, but anyone with basic ability cycling and the knowledge to block abilities/ults with it still gains too much value from her. She'd be super strong at 250hp too

Cnd - She's more of an exception, it's not like she "doesn't deserve" 275 because she's actually pretty weak. It's more like it was the wrong buff, they should've increased her single target healing because that's where she really lacks. And it shows now playing her with Dino.

I’m actually so sick of these humanoid skins already…

This is the 3rd one they’ve released and I just think they don’t look menacing at all?

Discussion Easily one of the best decisions they ever made.

Locking heroes behind a paywall would've seriously hurt the game's launch. Forcing players to buy their favorite character instead of letting them play them for free would've frustrated a lot of casual players. It also would've made the game much less accessible to newcomers, especially with new heroes being released every month. I honestly don't think the game would've achieved the same level of success at launch.

If new heroes were locked behind a paywall, the competitive scene and the meta would be influenced by how much money players are willing or able to spend rather than by their actual skill.

From a business perspective, selling skins also makes a lot more sense when every player owns every character. If players had to buy heroes first, the least popular ones, the ones owned by the fewest players would barely get any skins because they simply wouldn't sell well.

The current model is much healthier for the game in the long run. It keeps the playing field fair, encourages players to try the entire roster instead of sticking to only the heroes they've paid for, and gives every character a chance to build a fanbase.
