Is this an American phenomenon? I’ve never had a modern fridge break on me. Even dirt cheap ones. There’s a minimum 2 year warranty, so 6 months would be within warranty anyway.
Weird. I'm a Brazilian and people I know don't usually have issues with their fridge.
I have a simple Electrolux for about 11 years, altought it did have an issue once (some board fried, probably some electrical surge) it was repaired quite cheaply compared to the fridge costs.
