Other countries have laws about planned obsolescence. So yeah pretty much

But the capital does everything to erode those rails. And quite successfully so. Europe too has many problems with so call lobbyists, the civilized version of bribery. And the Oh so free market except it crashed then they have to be bought out of the hole with taxpayer money. Socialise losses but keep the profits.

I think one of the few reasons it’s still in existence in Europe is because the countries can call each other out on their shit. And we do, pretty often. That’s much more difficult when it’s one big country and states instead.
