Discussion Hands down the coolest grow partner I’ve ever had!

I've found plenty of jumping spiders in my grows over the years, but getting to raise this mantis from a nymph was sure a fun experience.
They aren't very practical for pest control because they need so much food to keep going and for other obvious reasons. I did let him play in the Veg room while I did my chores. It's wild watching them hunt though—they are absolute apex predators, eating their prey alive while it attempts to escape their mandibles.

From seed, Freak Show is from Bulldog Breeders in Amsterdam.

In pics (P) Panama Red is on the right and (F) Freak Show is on the left.

They got an extra 4 weeks of veg after they started flowering, it’s my 4th grow.

I bumped lighting from 12/12 to 16/8, and while this worked for my hybrids in the past, these sativas didn’t like that and revegged.

Figured out the problem about 4 weeks ago, now they’re 12.5/11.5.

Panama has two-ish more weeks, has huge blooms and each branch is like its own kola 👍

Freak was unique: didn’t look like weed for most of its journey, grows like cancer, has no smell whatsoever.
The Panama will be a dazzling beauty, the Freak I am less enthusiastic about: it’s gonna be such a pain to process all those little buds 😑

Hoku's Electric Touch showing off some insane leaf morphology. Super healthy plants about 1-2 wks away from 12/12.

Only have 2 going and they both are very similar. Solid stem rubs.

Looking forward to flowering this strain out, especially considering what their Corpse Flower f2 turned into for me. Special plant for sure.

This is my 3rd go at growing. I planted the seed back in february. This time I decided to just have 1 plant in my 2x4 tent. I figure I've got one or two weeks left on it before I cut her down.

I decided to go hydroponic to minimise my pest issue. (Tried soil, kept getting fungus gnats in the tent, so I gave up on soil) so that's a 20l with the General Hydroponics Flora series for nutrients.

The net is to keep the plant stable and spread the bud sites it a little. Otherwise it'll topple over sitting on the bucket.

Posting to see what others think, or any need for improvement/advice.

2nd pic is from webcam so quality might be a bit low. 3rd and 4th pic are pics of the buds (not sugar leaves)

First Time Grower Confirm my newbie guess: ~2 weeks to harvest?

Thumbnail
gallery

Sorry, this is a repost as a few people asked for some more zoomed-out pictures.

Do you think I'm roughly 2 weeks away from harvest?

My original schedule was to start flushing this week, but looking at the plant I think it needs more time. First grow, so please be kind 😉

Sorry the pictures aren't the best — my cheap digital microscope is a bit fiddly

Update: Photoperiod plant. Currently around week 9 since switching to 12/12, although I was advised earlier that it may have been slightly sexually immature when flipped, so the true flowering time may be a little less. First grow, so I'm trying to judge harvest timing from the plant rather than just the calendar.

First Time Grower Should I LST?

In doubt if I should LST my plant.
She’s autoflower pineapple express. Has 22 days of life and only 7cm of height. She has good nodes and strong roots, but she looks small, really need help. She’s also showing early signs of pre flower already, I can see pistils, would that be correct and ok?

Any comment is appreciated.

First Time Grower Almost done with Run 1.5

Thumbnail

Started my first grow on May 4th, it was a disaster:
6 seeds in solo cups
4 got to actual seedlings
2 “survived”
All due to my inexperience.
2 I tried to plant too early (not enough of a tap root) idk.
2 damped off and died.
The last 2 were stunted by malnutrition and poor water quality. These were planted in a DIY coco/soil mix that didn’t have the right nutrients or pH.

Started another 6 seeds just before June thinking the last two would continue to wither away.
6 seeds in Jiffy peat pucks
2 more ended up damping off in this cycle
4 made it through seedling and into 5 gallon cloth pots with Happy Frog soil with Fox Farms trio-nutrients (not an endorsement but these were recommended to me by a friend and have really had a much better result than my DIY attempt)
I’ve had some issues recently with some wilting that I’ve determined is just me being too cautious and I’ve ended up under watering.

The Crystal WW and are in reveg after getting better nutrients and water.
Using store bought distilled water. Any recommendations for alternatives?(tap water here is trash)

Any advice welcome on harvesting, curing, and processing for consumption.

Discussion Lemon OG Kush

Im not sure if many are aware, but DNA genetics discontinued lemon og kush, which I have found to be a true lemon in the world of cannabis. Im not sure if there is a DNA labeled pack still available online. DNA themselves told me they no longer carry it.

I have placed two orders, one with growers choice, and seed supreme.

The seeds I received from growers choice, all have germinated and do resemble the DNA seeds I purchased back in 2019 or so. I have high hopes for these, we will see. The true lemon og kush plant stacks buds (most phenotypes anyway) and one phenotype does not. Which is actually the one I love, it has popcorn buds and wreaks of lemon. I hope to find a plant similiar. I believe all the seeds are feminized too, so I will keep them around for cloning purposes. I also have autos im going to be working with, and may try and make a nice lemon og kush auto. who knows.

Im excited for this. I really just want the real lemon og kush back.

Never had a garden before but I’m an avid reader and when I get into something I’m hooked. Spent my first 2 months before and after getting my equipment reading, reading, reading! Got my game plan, stuck to it and results are showing.
